Welcome to The Gel Lyfe - I started this channel as I've been a "sneakerhead" most of my life and built a solid sneaker collection of around 200 pairs.. BUT feel the "scene" has lost any REAL sense of community and sick and tired of seeing the same kicks online or on feet. Namely Jordan 1 (fukin Mids!), Nike Dunk Lows and Adidas Yeezy Peezy's!
So I started a mission to sell my entire shoe collection and just focus on the best sneakers of all time... the Asics Gel Lyte 3!

I think most people don’t own the GDLP otherwise it would be their number one (unless you like muted colors). It honestly feels like an art piece. It was a fun time lookin at the connection between GDLP and ASICS that reaches back to years ago. Brazil has a strong connection to the brand and if you see the parties they used to throw w ASICS on YT it really demonstrates it.

Love the GDLP and really want them. Aiming for them for my next cop.
I myself would go for Alleycat as my no.1 then GDLP for #2 the quality is on point and the color on alleycat just take the cake. But I havnt seen the evisu or sneaker politic in hand though...

I ended up getting the AFEW Wabi-Sabi as my first collab sneaker ever. For that it holds a special place to me as a person who is just getting into sneaker culture. That being said though, I would actually put Alley Cats as top for 2022. They look straight out of Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Great video for the GL3 enthusiast! My personal is 1. Evisu 2. Alley Cats and 3. which might be controversial is the Kakashi because it is related to my favorite Naruto anime character! 😁

My top 3: 1. Nice Kicks Castlerock - Not only does it looks great, but really nailed the black sesame ice cream theme. 2. Alley Cats - This shoe is just wild. Cowhide, satin, glow in the dark 3. AFEW Beauty of Imperfection - Like the theme and materials are top tier. Also very wearable. I have the Kakashi higher up on the list. There's a lot more to this than just a grey and blue shoe. It has small details like the dubrae that matches the headband worn by Naruto characters. The shoe matches Kakashi's non-flashy demeanor, but the upper tears away to reveal his lighting attack. However, I get that many wouldn't dig them if they didn't know about the character. The worst are the Subway. The world map version was unique and looked pretty good. The subways maps were a poor follow up. They just look like a random Google maps.

Alley cats were my favorite from this year. Evisus are obviously great too but the colors on the Alley Cat are just too good.

If we're talking exclusivity and materials, I'd have the AFEW x Asics Gel Lyte III™ "Beauty of imperfection CP 1/1" as my favourite. Unfortunately, it was only raffled off or won once, but probably won't be available for everyone to buy for a few years yet...! the Alley Cats with the amount of detail would then be on 2 and on 3 the blue brown Evisu, where I find the gold stripes too over the top and the Naruto Shippuden Kakashi are more wearable here. If Ronnie still comes at the end of the year with his 3 models that have appeared, they would easily be in the top ten. the rest i find almost a bit lacking in creativity this year, besides the much better standard releases 💁🏼♂️

For me its 1.Alley cats 2.Evisu 3.GDLP (So bummed Asics mysteriously removed them from website so no discount :/) 4.Castle Rock 5.Always Ready Sneaker Politics 6.Awake NY (Pink and Black and white look so in person imo. Pictures don't do justice.) 7.Subway 8.AFEW (Same I like the idea but maybe more distressed or patchwork maybe?) 9.Pleasure 10.Kakashi (This was tough between the pleasure, you honestly have to be a Naruto fan to appreciate it.
