Yes! Wrist in broken completely in two places. Fell off a damn ladder! Surgery went great though. Had decent range of motion & strength 10 days from surgery. Looking for strength now but need to get the green light from my Dr. Noticed the middle of my hand up through my index, middle, & ring fingers get super fatigued at times. Not sure if this normal or not. Probably from typing on these damn devices too much & too early.

I'm thinking to effectively utilize these exercises, you need to have little/no tone in the wrist & fingers, because after a 2nd TBI, I have no fine dexterity in my left fingers, & while the wrist is malleable, even the right wrist's efforts to bring it into wrist flexion, there isn't very much range of motion when I emulated this device by gripping a flexbar with a supinated grip, anchored a theraband with my foot, & looped the other end onto the bar.

Not for quite some time. Sometimes it takes 1-2 years for more complete recovery to be able to do what you were doing before. But weight lifting may take longer that that. Make sure you follow you doctors instructions. I am 2 weeks out of cast for Colles fracture on both radius and ulna, no surgery. i am in removable splint and compression glove. Fingers, thumb and wrist very stiff and painful. Therapy is very painful for me.

Hi Bob & Brad; I am 3 weeks post op and just found your videos. I have lots of pain in my left wrist following surgery with an immense amount of stiffness and limitation. There have been signs of nerve damage in my palm which I believe is bringing pain up my arm and through my hand. With my injury, I displaced my joint and it had to be realigned with plates and screws during surgery since I fractured through my radius as a whole. Should I be worried about how limited my range of motion is at this point? Thanks!

@@elifercan735 Hi Elif; I am doing much better but the stiffness and limitation is very limited. I have been attending physio and kinseology once a week for an hour and a half at a time. At first, I was diagnosed with something called regional pain syndrome which apparently takes place for more women than men. I continued to advocate for myself and it was discovered early on that my plates were installed crooked and also had one edge overhanging on my wrist too far. I finally have the go ahead from the surgeon to remove plates closer to the one year post op mark. Praying that relieves much of the tension, stiffness and pain that I have been experiencing. Very limited flexibility thus far. How are you doing?

I think it’s normal to feel negative and depressed, but don’t stop being active! Just stick to cardio for a while.

I felt the same. My family helped me understand that I can get to full body workout by focusing on wrist exercises at the start. Meanwhile you can still go walking or light jogging.

Not likely. It may take up to a year to recover full strength and flexibility. Some take 2 years. I can't quite believe the stiffness and pain I have 14 weeks post wrist fracture. My hand therapy exercises are very painful. Wrist weak. Swelling just now going down enough I can see wrinkles and blood vessels on the back of my hand.
