The Equator V3 5500 does a good job washing but not so great drying. When doing a normal Wash and Dry, the machine allocates almost 3 hours with 2 hours devoted to drying. If you choose the vented option, the time allotted does not change. The reason is that even when the vented option is selected, air enters the machine via the cold water driven condenser. You cannot turn it off even though the exterior vent is opened. This air flow path is so severely constricted that the exhaust does not have the power to blow open a dryer exhaust damper flap. To fix this, I decided to modify the machine to allow fresh air to enter the internal blower directly bypassing the cold water condensing drying assembly. This disables the condenser drying option. To do this, I simply detached the blower fan assembly from the cold-water condensing assembly. I then inserted a 1/2 inch spacer with the three bolts holding the two components together. Fresh air could then easily enter the blower fan directly bypassing the condenser entirely. This resulted in a strong air flow through the machine and a strong, hot, moist air exhaust that easily held open the damper flap. The machine was able to take full advantage of the exhaust option and dry clothes much more quickly. As an additional benefit, the resulting flow of fresh air at the top of the machine into the blower cooled the top of the machine and reduced the chance that the control board would get cooked by the excessive waste heat.

I just recently bought the GE profile. I love it. Yes, it’s expensive. I got mine on sale for $600 off list. My only gripe is it didn’t come with a low profile wrench to loosen the leg height adjustment lock nut. As far as I can tell, it needs a 16mm low profile open end wrench to get in there. It is a tight squeeze. The machine is also very heavy at over 300 lbs. it takes 2 people to deal with adjusting those legs to balance the unit.

Oh yeah I do not like GE I have a GE washing machine it was awful so was the dryer. It was a front loader washing machine. I will never on GE 😡
