Quick notes of her how to: Stand. Fix posture.(around 8min she talks about it) Inhale. Exhale. At bottom of exhale draw in NOT suck in. Use lower muscles. (Act as if a string from belly bottom is drawn to spine.) Twist. 8-10. Do as many as possible, shoot for even numbers.

I did this for a couple months - then I procrastinated and discontinued, I am now starting back up again. When I was doing it my pooch went away entirely and my stomach looked amazing. My scale has smart features; my visceral fat went from a 10 to an 8, my subcutaneous fat went from a 28.2% to 25.7% and my body fat went from a 31.8% to a 28.6%. In each category, I went from a high obesity rating to a healthy standard this all happened in two months. And I did not do it as religiously as I should have and I procrastinated and stopped for awhile. My weight went from 167.4 to 155 lbs. I do intermittent fasting and I do workout as well - but it was not until doing the vacuum twists that changes really started to happen and when I procrastinated I can visibly (and on the scale) see thing revert regardless of how much I fast or workout. I am going to post a video showing this new round and what a more scheduled consistency can bring. Thank you Heidi, this has been a major game changer for me.

I hate hearing that 'feel like a string is pulling from your belly button..' analogy, because I still cannot do it! Is it just like sucking in your stomach and tensing your muscles at the same time?? When she says 'it's not sucking in your stomach'... I just don't understand that!! Help..🙏

@@sherbert85 breath in and breathing out .. on the breathing in along with tighten your abdomen holding in that tightness and do the twisting as you saw her demonstrate without breathing out up to 10 .. then release your core muscles.. (abdomen) exhale . I did it too as she demonstrated and got a really good understanding. Ms Heidi emphasized not only just a inhale/exhale move.. but you should manipulate your abdominal muscles .

Tip: Before performing the exercise, lengthen your whole entire form, by making yourself as tall as possible; think of creating maximum distance between your heels and the very top of your head (epicranium). Look in the mirror during this, doing your best to resolve any asymmetries you may see, even the smallest ones (very important). Lock all this into place by flexing the core muscles, THEN proceed onto the movement as prescribed in THIS VIDEO. Each and every time you come to the center take one full second to see you haven’t lost this orientation. Incorporating these seemingly innocent aspects will increase your height, open and align your spine, improve your symmetry, creating an overall more aesthetically pleasant form for you.

This is by far the best ab exercise I’ve ever done. I tried it out as I watched the video and after 3, I could feel it!!! I’m so flipping happy right now. I'm starting this today. I lost a bunch of weight in the last year and was going to get myself a mommy makeover as a reward. However, I am currently without a job and would honestly love to have done the weight-loss and the tightening on my own, without surgery. Your video is informative, sweet and your beautiful daughter (who shares a name with my Grandma) gave me the extra willpower I apparently needed. I've got nothing to lose for trying this for a month except hopefully that pooch. I went from a size 24 to a 10- which was my goal, I did get down to squeeze into a size 8, but I didn't like the way I looked that scrawny. I'm roughly 165lbs down from 275lbs at my highest, but I have more muscle to me than just fat, so I don't care what the scale says. I am very proud of myself, but my new goal to to CONFIDENTLY wear a bikini, I have never felt comfortable in a swimsuit let alone a bikini. That is my goal. I will keep you posted on results. Keep on keeping on.❤

Thank you so much for sharing, love this video. I'm going to definitely incorporate these in my day, three times a day! I hope I'm doing it right. :-) I am 49, I have five children, all two years apart. And I make big babies, lol so I definitely have diastasis recti! Ever since my first actually, 16 years ago. My OB said no worries, if nec'ry we'll have surgery when you're done having children if it's an issue. But fortunately, I got into exercising, and actually hula hooping was an awesome thing for me! I think that it automatically caused me to do stomach vacuums because of the way you hold your body super taught to do the hooping!! ANyWaY, I got into doing stomach vacuums for real, and that's when it rang a bell for me, that that's what I was doing all along while hula hooping, lol. And low and behold, my grapefruit sized gap in my midsection closed up! So I can definitely agree with your statement that you can heal it without surgery! Lately I have been wanting to improve my stomach vacuums, and your video is very helpful, and just the incentive I need to get back into it. Thanks again 🥰 Arghhhhh, I'm so sorry I'm making this even longer, lol I had to edit this to say that another reason that I love doing these exercises, is that I have multiple sclerosis and have difficulty walking. And these exercises, as you said, are fantastic for strengthening the core. Doing vacuums as well as planks are very helpful in helping me able to continue walking, ;-)

    4 жыл бұрын

@@l.a.w.79 Absolutely. However, it is not only what you eat but when you eat. I suggest *intermittent fasting* to almost everyone ... which is basically narrowing your eating period down to 12, 10, 8, or 6 hours per day (even less if you get really hardcore). It's really not difficult to do once you make it a habit. When you're hungry, just drink water. I promise your body gets use to it. Eating nothing for that time period is *extremely* important; no nibbling. So when you do eat, make sure you eat for nutrition first; no junk food or fast food. And fasting is so incredibly healthy (autophagy, etc). If you are diabetic or have other serious health issues, you should talk to a doctor *who is very familiar with fasting.* *AND* when you lose a lot of weight with fasting, you are not supposed to have folds of skin left over; *your skin tightens up!!!* ... or so the autophagy experts claim. I have a good friend (guy) who recently went from 225 lbs down to 185 lbs in about 4 months from intermittent fasting (no eating for about 15 or 16 hours each day) and eating no processed food and some exercise every day. That's hardcore life-changing IMO.

I enjoyed watching and listening to you. I have been working on getting rid of my gap. I first started Feb 1st working out. My boyfriend had to drag me out of our depression because we lost our baby 5 days after he was born. We are not depressed anymore and are happy working out but I know for me it's a struggle. I had a 4 finger gap and down to a 2 1/4 gap. I just learned yesterday how to fully tighten and work the area. Now seeing your video has me excited. I want to so badly to close the gap and get back into shape. My hubby and his mother also workout with me but I do additional working out on my own. I feel that your version will help better. I will start today and can't wait to see the results. Thank you for taking the time to talk about this matter!!!

@Really Though I just saw your comment, the advice you gave is what EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW!! Anyone watching this video, seems very confused. First of all, this exercise is effective, but unless you're at your goal weight, it's not going to work!! Laying on the floor is by far the best way to start applying this exercise. Don't get me wrong..we should all be "sucking" our abdominal muscles in, making it a habit, overweight or not! Any exercise is is important, but if you don't execute it properly(like you explained!) You will be doing it for nothing 👍😊 Great information! I'm agreeing with you.

It feels strange to me that people who workout regularly don’t know this already. I’m a ballet dancer and we hold our abs this way always. It is why our core and backs are so strong. These principles are so basic to me that I hold my abs this way while doing any workout (and often while just sitting around). It’s also used in Pilates, Yoga, and martial arts.

  • @skylarbix7912

Honeyfaced 1, I am a ballet dancer as well !! You are so right, I am also a gymnast- and muscle "memory" never goes away! Like you said, I was taught to ALWAYS hold my core muscles in. I was surprised as well, in reading the comments, everyone seems so confused about this ONE movement of "sucking" your abdominal muscles in! Like you said, I am always doing this, it needs to be a habit. The problem is that alot of people here are overweight-this"exercise" isn't going to make you thin! You need to be eating right, (not you) getting to your goal weight and exercising regularly for this to work, if you're already fat-this won't work! I had to stop the gymnastics! My ballet teacher was SO angry, because I was TOO muscular!!!! I quit gymnastics, 😪too bulky. Anyway, cool to see a post from a dancer, that's a first!! 😊

Interesting that dancers know this. I am 60 this year and I have NEVER heard of this. I have tried all kinds of exercise programs over the decades - and this is new! I am going to set a 30 day experiment. I admire your long lean bodies and always figured that genetics was playing against me. That may still be true but I have hope that a change can occur in my midsection. I'd love to lose that pooch.

I was doing this method since childhood. I noticed other girls have their stomach out. I didn't like that so I had pulled mine in so it won't look like their. I didn't realize that was a benefit that served me later in my adult years because I never had a stomach, at least that was the comment I get from other women. Thanks for reviewing this method, now I can add in the twist to address the Obliques and change the frontal shape.
