Still a 3k setup. Better than 5k, but you clearly don't have the braking ability of a real 50 mph ebike. Super cool upgrade, but not too safe either for daily commuting.

@@trasher2431if you don’t mind, why? I just looked, the bike is actually 2k. Not 1k. Definitely a false advertisement, and for an extra 1k more you can get the booflaria triple X, which is still a much better bike than this for only 1k more.

I ride an electric unicycle. I was going 35mph when one of those $350 costco ebikes zoomed past me. It has some wires and cables dangling off and what looked like a big battery pack. Now that's a sleeper bike for real 😂

There's plenty of guides online. "mid drive motor conversion" or "hub motor conversion". As a 16yr old, I put mine together over the course of 3 days just looking at guides and doing it myself. Mine tops out at 31mph, is fully sidewalk legal because it's only 750w, and did it for just $800. The build that this guy did actually costs like $3200. Get yourself a well suspended fat tire bike and find a fat bike conversion, you can really set one up for less than $1500 brand new and capable of 35mph+ if you do it right. On top of that, if you learn enough, you can set up your own shop and mark up prices for a profit since your bikes would still be cheaper than whats on the market for the same specs

Yea same , but I bought a $550 electric bike 4” fat tire and a 6000w wheel motor kit and 72v battery for $950

Couldn't have posted this video at a better time. Been looking to upgrade my Amazon bike. It's right at that lovely 28 mph and have found myself in numerous situations where a bit more power would have easily kept me well away from potential incidents. @@standeman32he means the lifespan of the battery. It probably uses low quality cells because it’s so cheap. A good quality battery should have name brand cells like Samsung and perferably should have a ul Certification which means it won’t spontaneously combust and burn ur house down lol.

@@standeman32 those batteries are the ones you see on the news randomly exploding and burning houses down, high quality batteries are 100% safe but those random drop shipped ones on amazon are insanely sketchy and have a random chance of lighting on fire. On top of that they often come with falsely advertised capacities or lie about the quality of cells they use.

so this ends up being a 3000$+ build in total

Seeing as the frame is the only part that matters, you can cut corners by purchasing a 750w moped style ebike for far cheaper, before taking it to the shop. You'll have to check if the battery needs supports, but basically any bike that can have that 20" motor and 72V battery will qualify for a stealth bomber using those parts with enough ingenuity. Using DIY, I'd say the floor is at least $2K for this build type. I wouldn't skip on the suspension though, if you ate it on a pothole without one it would be nasty so $3K seems reasonable compared to other bikes in its class.

i bike and ebike, and do all my own builds. my e is something of a $1000 (all in) sleeper amazon rig, put on a decent mountain bike with some other upgrades. Its fun for the neighborhood (35mph top speed), but you're 100% right for wanting 40-60 for across town commuting. this is giving me big inspiration for my next build!

HI, there. I have already built my duel motor 2500w 52volt sleeper Engwe EP2 Pro. and it's fast. I have had it for 2 year's now and its' still going strong. and it may not be a good ol Ron. But where i live you can not have a good ol Ron and ride on the road the police will lock you up..lol. But when they see my sleeper bike they are not interested in it.. @@alonsocaicedo8260 LBX model ‘23 or newer. They come with a 40ah battery instead of 32 or 38ah that they had before. The Ultra bee is also really nice, but may not be practical for everyone. I’m considering the ultra bee but I genuinely enjoy how small the LBX is, and it is still quite capable.

I am hooked- so much amazing things on this channel. I was blown away by the comparison video of ebike ss pro to the already impressive surron... now I really want more budget videos because as interested as i am it's still expensive to my budget. I got to say this is truly astounding to see the budget model performing so well! I would like to understand the whole system better.

something ive started riding around my city ( on/near bike paths) is an upgraded rsf650 razor but the one time i got pulled over i just showed them it on amazon told them i upgraded the battery so i could put lights on it, get to work, and gave it a new paint job

As you get faster you'll have to be more alert and know your Stopping Distance. You'll also have to pay more attention to what the traffic is doing and chat with your pals when you stop. Wearing Motocross Body armour under your shirt might help keep your skin on if you crash. Looks great fun! Ride safe!

Isn't the term "build" usually used and associated with upgrading. That's why there's a saying "built not bought" or something like that... At least from what I've heard in the car community. Basically saying you upgraded (built/build) your car instead of buying a car from factory that's already fast.

​@@standeman32I built my own ebike that keeps up with upgraded rons no issue, I have a mongoose cx24v450 I dropped a volimart hub kit did a shunt mod till it was pushing 72v 42a and it's pushing around 3kw and while being half the weight and me being only 145lbs it's a rocket. I get 55mph easy which in town is more than enough and with the 30ah battery pack I built myself it still gets 60 miles of range with a constant speed of 34-38mph

I’ve got a bit of soldering experience but I don’t know that I quite trust myself to build a pack. Any advice for battery building? Cheers

@@standeman32 stick with similar cells, make sure to charge each individual cell within .01v of each other and absolutely use a bms. I've seen people build packs with no bms and use a balance charger which can work but with no current protection you have a fire waiting to happen. I used salvaged cells in my bike and it took 315 to make my pack

Lacing the rim is the hardest part. but you can find kits with the rim included.

Hey bro love the content, just figured I`d point out that you shouldn`t have your charger sitting on the concrete like that when in use (or ever, concrete kills electronics). The cause of this is condensation, concrete is always cooler then ambient temps and water will actually build up inside the charger overtime and short it out, which can cause fires in some cases. General rule of thumb, don`t let any kind of charger or battery sit on the concrete for more then a few minutes. I love this bike though! Great video as always Edit: did some research to refresh my memory, and it looks like I might be wrong about the cause of concrete killing electronic but it is definitely a thing people talk about. Might as well play it safe and prop the charger on a piece of wood or something. Stay safe, and keep your bikes safe!

Honestly thanks for the reminder. Definitely a good point. The reason, however, is because you are grounding the charges. I don’t know if it really has a large impact though, because it’s not like the battery cells or the actual connections are plugged into the ground. But I get the concept. Additionally, I get your point of the possibility of condensation buildup, but I think this would only really occur if the ambient elements are cold enough, and humidity in the particular location would also play into the buildup as a factor. Better safe than sorry all around

Not exactly budget. The bike costs $2000 itself + the $1000 dollars worth of upgrades. I've been in the DIY ebike world for about a year now, there is some controversy with UPP batteries and this definitely could be done for cheaper. I built a 72v 45a (3700w full charge theoretically if it had full efficiency) electric bmx bike for $1300 for everything and it probably could keep up with this. If anyone is reading this I think the better move for 3k is to buy a Talaria XXX and just not comply. Pedals or not, if they see you mobbing at highspeed they would probably still impound this.

544 and 538 is over 1000 , plus the cost of shipping. Not a 1000 dollar build, this is over a thousand dollars. The way you were speaking, you make it sounds as if this was an under 1000 dollar build. Love your content , but that is a little misleading. Especially if you are doing research and haven't bought a bike yet.

I put this on my Tomofree TK 200 it kick but! I had to use a different 72 volt battery. I also chose the motor option with more torque. This thing is a hill climbing beast with top speed around 40mph. For this bike that’s all the speed the suspension can handle , and most the roads I ride on are 25mp limits.

Nice buld main.. I just started watching your channel. Thank you for the content. my regular hard tail mtb with a cyc x1 pro gen 3 looks more sleeper. Most people can't even tell its an ebike. 3000w 3800w peak. It's my first ebike. And I love it. I've crashed a few times. One was into the side of a van at 25mph by the time I slowed down. The guy blocked the bike path and just looked at me the hole time. With no one in the front of him. I put a huge body sided dent in his side doors. And broke 2 Windows. It was totally his fault.

Yo do more of these budget stuff. You got me interested into all these electric bicycles, thinking of ditching cars for bicycles like these.

I've been looking to get out of my car for my commute to work and school, so I've been looking at getting a motorcycle and taking the safety course come spring. Your vids have seriously enticed me, and since this build is comparable to good bikes on Marketplace price wise, I'm really considering something like this! I'm just particularly concerned about getting pulled over. See, most of my commute is on this major road that goes 45 mph. maybe If I had something like this, I could ride the sidewalks undetected.

@@duwaine96 actually it wasn't far off. They neglected to mention few tips Things. Information Unfortunately l.a. e rides was no help. Surronsters code never helped. Yadeas customer service was horrible. I still built a monster. I went one further. I did a 5000w kit. Slapped it on a brand new yadea trooper 01. It's literally the best thing I have ever bought and built. The bike is fine stock for 1600. I rode out through rain and snow no problems. I'm just heavy. Rear stock shock bottoms out. Plus I wanted to go faster and the whole point was to go faster then him and I did. Cops do not duck with me. This is a legit sleeper. I also take it off road coz idgaf. There are always cheaper options but this one wasn't bad. Lot of people throw the 3000w kits on stuff. If his is a sleeper. Then I built a super sleeper.
