I'm sure this is a joke, but incase its not: you can. I promise you being sober is possible. You can either slowly ween off or go cold turkey. I come from a family tree of addicts so it was difficult. But try 1 day. Just one and see how you feel. And if you feel good, go two days. I'm 2 years sober from some stuff, a couple months off another, and only 1 week off my worst addiction. You can do it. And once your sober your life begins. You can live a life that's not controlled by substance abuse. And its the most empowering feeling. I hope this helps anyone who needed to hear it

@@Badass1974 Mine are probably are two of the absolute worst addictions. Opiate/opioid addiction combined with benzodiazepine (Mostly Xanax). I've tried multiple times but both are HORRIBLE withdrawals, the opioid withdrawal is incredibly painful and taxing, benzos are more jittery and twitchy and tense, but also more potentially fatal from what i've learned. And honestly i've gotten over the mental addiction many times, what cripples me is the dependency aspect, the withdrawals are what in my opinion separate addiction from dependency.

grndmst9 dude. I’ve been on opioids for almost 2years due to chronic pain and was stupid to think I can just quit like it’s nothing and I stopped like from one second to the next and after 2 and a half days I was in hospital on IV morphine. It was so fucking bad it scared me. It was like my body shut down. My dads a doctor and when he found out what happened he was glad I called the ambulance Cus it can be very very bad (of course not as bad as heroin withdrawal etc). Anyways if you give keep taking morphine but less and less everyday, it’ll be nothing. Like you’ll think wtf it was this easy? That’s what I thought anyways. Edit: oh yeah I forgot to mention the reason I was able to get off morphine was because I was and now am prescribed ketamine which 1 helps way better with pain plus you can’t get addicted to it like you can with morphine (your body doesn’t get hooked and you can simply stop without any withdrawal. I think however there are other effects with are not the best eg taking a lot can cause liver problems etc etc but in regulated doses it’s fine, can take it for years without issues).

Bert if you ever read this, you are 1,000x more interesting and greater to listen to when you are like this. I like your other side too, and have never had a problem with you but I think you are much more one dimensional when you drink a lot, you only get 1 side out of you. This seemed much more relatable and had more depth, I was more interested to listen for the full 3 hours. If/when you do go back to drinking, remember this month and even though there are some downsides to not drinking as much, you won't be able to give people in your professional and personal life the *full* Bert Kreischer unless you let this side out of you too.

After my dad's second DUI he went a few weeks without drinking (had to because of court ordered tests) and he was saying all the same shit Bert is saying--"I feel so much better! I sleep better, I have more energy, I feel rested in the morning!" As soon as the court tests were over he went right back to drinking, just like how after sober October is over Bert went right back to drinking. The crazy lucid dreams after quitting weed are real. Im a month in the Pause and for 3 weeks I'm dreaming tenfold of normal every night. This night i had like 6 different dreams one of them was me as a little boy just waiting til it's my turn on the bullriding rodeo and I was so nervous but I never made it. The best kid before me had 1:30 minutes on the bull so there was no way in topping that anyway.

Have a same dream 3 days in a row about aliens taking over the world but they are like clones , hive, can communicate with each other and me trying to figure out how to distinguish them from normal people and how to beat them. I think it's just my true self trying to beat a guy with addiction in my dreams. Still didn't figure out in my dreams.

I used CBD to kick alcohol. And dear god is it one of the best things I've used. My brain was firing clear, instant REM when sleeping, getting into a workout routine was easy because of the anti-inflammatory benefit, and for some reason allowed me to bypass the withdraws I always experienced.

The reason your dreams go crazy when you stop smoking is because THC blocks your REM sleep which is the stage at which dreaming occurs. Once you stop your sleep schedule changes and you take in a lot of REM. This disturbance of REM also negatively effects memory because a lot of encoding takes place during REM.
