Finally somebody talks about mitochondria at WEHI - out a biochemistry textbook to start and then more interestingly

I can not stress how helpful this is for other fellow researchers to come. There are several cases where mitophagy can occur erronously, like in a lack of external oxygen in hypoxia and ischemia, and in adpatation to cryohybernation or even engineered adaptation to heat where the proton graident must be reduced in healthy mitochondria to reduce slef induced heat stress by lowering energy temporarily too. And thisbis useful in camcer reseaech too where upregulation of mutophagy could eliminate sufficient mitochondria from thise cells that are used by cancers to make cancer enhancment factors instead of energy in cancers and possibly senescent cells too. All are synthetic bio applications that go beyond simple crispr or drugs but doable presently too.

It's nice to know all this about mitochondria

Is it plausible to believe a similar mechanism of competitive inhibition, as seen in steric hindrance of oligomerization (39:19)), may prolong cell survival in RIP1-RIP3 necroptosis inducing pathways (RHIM motif). I'm wondering if Covid-19 infection may involve a similar mechanism to prolong cell survival as a viral survival strategy of immune evasion? Your presentation is fascinating. Thank you!

What a crawler, yammering about "traditional owners."
