@@fergonzalez5670 It's a common situation for people who've lived in one extreme to flip to the complete opposite extreme when given a taste of what they have been missing, though I wouldn't necessarily say that she became mean (sometimes a bit cranky or rather high energy, but not really mean usually,) but I can agree with the bossy statement. I think this phenomena is why you also see Raj go from being unable to talk to any female without getting drunk, to being overly confident and cocky in his relationships (leading him to cheat one of his girlfriends.)

@@homerman76 There were literally several episodes, one with her boss and Penny at a party, where they discussed how mean she was to everyone at work and to his grandson. In another episode, when Penny interviewed at her company they both noted they were scared of her. In another episode, she got mad at Penny for slipping up and mentioning her pregnancy at work, but then admitted she purposely did that to another woman to steal her projects. They changed the character from being quiet and shy to being bossy and mean. Just like how they changed Amy from being a robotic female Sheldon, that hated sex/touch, and only dated annually to please her mother, to someone that was chasing after him, complaining about his lack of affections, constantly trying to get hugs, kisses, and snuggling, and repeatedly making sexual inappropriate comments to Penny and sometime to Bernadette. These aren't character arcs where someone is explicitly trying to change over time, or implicitly changing due to changing factors around them, these were core things about Bernie and Amy that the writers just changed in a few episodes to present some trope, or to get laughs.

I just loved it when Sheldon said "perhaps there is hope for you after all"

And that's why Penny and Sheldon are besties for life!

One of my favorite scenes of all time & and one of the best episodes of this show. Raj's and Howard's faces, after Penny gave the perfect explanation of why Bernie can't sit on Sheldon's spot, were poetic and hilarious. 🤣🤣 Sheldon's face when Bernadette asked why, his face when Penny started talking, and the delivery of the line 'maybe there's hope for you after all' are brilliant. This episode also includes one of the most hysterical scenes of all time on The Big Bang, the one when the girls are discussing shoes, sitting next to Howard and Sheldon, Sheldon looks so confused, and then when he and Howard are alone, Sheldon, using the 'social construct' of the ordinary, random conversation about such a mundane thing as buying shoes, repeats after the girls, and says ' Howard, your shoes are delightful'. This time, Howard is beyond confused, and next, Sheldon says 'Bazinga!', making the funniest face ever! I almost died laughing when I first watched this scene. 🤣😆And it was perfectly delivered by Parsons.

I enjoyed the first seasons very much. However, when Bernadette and Amy joined the cast it really increased the humor and caused greater depth to the characters.

Of all the people in this show, Howard who married WAY above himself.

She was reserved and we didn’t know much about her yet. Little did we know she would reveal herself to be a feisty “don’t take guff from anyone” attitude while being overly insensitive (or as Amy put it, “unnecessarily hurtful but with a sweet voice”). As much as the “older annoying one” was not as likeable, I think I enjoyed her dynamic with Howard. That is, she couldn’t easily be a “bully” toward him, she supported him and laughed at his jokes, she chose to live at his mother’s house despite reservations, and the two personalities worked well together.

When you have to use a laugh track it's not really funny.
