I actually quite like him as a mini. He looks a similar size to the Marauder Giant and with a bit of conversion work he would be good for variety. I like the touch with the spears, when I saw the grip I thought "javelin" and you found a way to really make that work. Not silly, but a good touch of humour.

Great video, I like that giants sculpt so much better than the GW ones and he looks epic chucking a pile of spears like that. Thanks for sharing this video, I really enjoyed it!

With the gap filling, sprue goo might have been a better option for a lot of it. You might also want to take a glance at some of the WizKids Nolzur's line giants...they look about the same size

Thanks for this video, im always looking for cheap monsters for all of my projects. I love how different this sculpt is as well, very 60s looking creepy cave creature. Ill definitely be on the lookout for one.

I've been looking forward to this video ever since you first mentioned this miniature as I'm always on the lookout for cheap minis and wanted to see your take on this one. Amazing job as usual and I especially loved your idea of using the bundle of spears as it not only helped with the somewhat awkward hand pose but also gave the giant a more unique weapon too.

It came out looking nice. Think the spears really sell how a giant might fight. I used to love the GW giant rules with throwing people around. You could maybe even use as a bolt thrower proxy for some flavour?

That's what I thought too, Imagine being faced by half a dozen spears being thrown directly down at you. Terrifying prospect.

I was already awaiting for this, thanks! I think its a very fitting design for Oathmarks more realistic / tolkienesque / dark age look. If its that cheap, I will maybe try to reposition the right arm (I mean left), raise and turn it a bit. From the top its covered with that fur coat, and my scuplitng skill may be enough for the importance of the armpit...

A lot of work to fill the gaps. Otherwise, it's definitely a nice alternative.

You could probably make it look fine with a lot less work, I definitely went a bit overboard. Something like liquid green stuff (do they still make that) or some kind plastic filler glue stuff as well as a putting him together a little more carefully would have solved a few of the issues.

Would 3d printing a giant's weapon have been possible?

For sure, and I did have a glance across Thingiverse for something suitable but came up short. Then I considered designing something from scratch but was limited by my time and skills

If I hadn't thought of the spears that's the route I would have taken, that or an entire elf

Looks great but the spears in his hand look so off in the pose to me.

they are not perfect but I think they look a lot more natural than the club, its partly down to the camera angles as well, its a hard model to show off in 2D

I don't think he's "called" Bergtroll - surely bergtroll means something like "mountain troll" in German?

Fair point I hadn't thought of that, on the other hand I knew someone who's cat was called cat

Hello mate I hope you are well...I love the giant but why o why didn't/don't you cut the club arm say 6-7mm up the wrist rotate the hand round so its in a more natural pose and use the club, you can hide the cut by rolling out some greenstuff snakes and wrapping it round as bandage or leather strap with something hanging off it, thats what I'd do, you could even knock up some kind of giant size metal/leather bracer dotted with the skulls, ok yeeeaah the bundle of spears does work and you've done it already but a big bad club is better and fits better with what giants do...cheers now

I did concider it, I think it would have been realativly easy to do but the way the arm is positioned is so the hand is palm up an it would still look a little awkward. Also the supplied club wasnt much to write home about. The best option would be some kind of flail like the masonary the Warhammer giant has but i didnt have anything suiltable to hand or time (or the will) to craft anything.
