Dude, this was really helpful! Great video. From pictures online, it was really hard to tell all these small differences. I didn't understand the price difference before. Now it makes sense. The Pagani is WAY better. The only thing I disagree with is that you said the Seiko movement is more accurate. I concede it might be higher quality, and it will likely last longer, but if you're willing to crack the case back, can't the user adjust adjust their own beat error and accuracy? Even if you don't have your own timegrapher, and/or you're not willing to adjust your own movement's accuracy, the comparison is just an out-of box experience, which will vary from watch to watch. Some Seiko movements will arrive with +/- 40 seconds per day. You just never know what you're going to get.

Very true. It's a bit of luck. With that said the NH35 should be more reliable after regulation especially in different positions. I have a Seiko 5 "made in Japan" with Seiko 4R36 (NH36) that was running -10 s/d and 1.2ms beat error dial up on the timegrapher. I received a San Martin with NH35 that was running +8 s/d and 0.2ms beat error. I believe San Martin might regulate the movements. I expected more from a "Made In Japan" Seiko!

So I just got the Benyar only because I preferred the flat matte black dial. The texture on the Pegani looks like a toy watch to me. I also couldn't justify paying $150 for a Chinese Homage. The Benyar was $49 and does the job just fine. The bracelet was awful though but I through it on a leather strap and it looks great. Runs long and strong too, so far.

That's good to know and yeah $150 for a homage is pretty steep. I'm pretty comfortable paying around $100 for a good one but it would really need to be something special to justify more. Appreciate you watching and for the comment

@@WesWatchRoom Yep. $150 plus California state sales tax and now im looking at almost $170 for an homage. I don't think so. For another $300 I'd just get one of those incredible Lorier watches. Have you seen those yet? Stunning. Yes nice video. I like how you do the break down and point system. Ha.

How do you test for stainless steel?

I did buy a Benyar, I actually have a genny Black Bay dial and handset and wanted to see if I could "upgrade" the Benyar with it but the watch itself, cheap and not bad looking, bracelet is either too tight or too loose and awful and decided to keep the Tudor goodies and use them with my spare NH34 movement as I have a GMT hand in that burgundy and Tudor like cases are not hard to find with a Tudor shield bracelet and only mod needed is to drill out the hand hole to 2.9mm to allow the GMT pedestal to clear the dial. Also I have noticed there seems to be two sorts of crystals for the Benyar, my one is a full double dome but have seen the ones like yours where its a different crystal to mine, the double dome is actually a game changer and I am going to dental floss that bezel into tightness and have a decent bracelet on way from Aliexpress and get rid of that awful thing that is on there now lol

You can’t beat these for the price. 😊👌

Benyar looks cheap, it is a bad brand, and its no so cheap in price, there are many chinese brands that make much better watches and cost half or less than a Benyar.

It did run quite fast and not that well.
