Let's face facts. most of watches out there are alloy coated, not stainless steel, at least when the price is low. To be real, you're paying for the looks, not the "quality" (...like some others more expensive have that! 😋). If you want the looks and don't want to pay much, get it, but ffs stop whining guys. As we say here, you can't have the whole pie AND the dog replete....!!!

That is deceptive labelling. "ALL STAINLESS STEEL" and "STAINLESS STEEL BACK" are very different! "ALL" includes the case - period. There really isn't supposed to be any ambiguity.

So the real value seems to be in their really affordable pieces. I mean the OP ain't bad but you can get a similar quality movement in the Berny Mondaine homage with the added bonus of having sapphire and steel case. It just needs a steel case to be a bargain imo. I'm ok with it not having sapphire, but I guess it might hurt in their PD OP sales.

  • @EscapeWheel

Yup, I think non-watch needs don't really understand the benefits of a steel case vs the plates ally, so they really don't care. They see an automatic with 100m water resistance and go crazy for them...lol. most of my viewers would probably happily pay the $30 extra for the Pagani OP

  • @czguy3045

I have two of these. The darker blue 'Explorer' and the yellow/orange OP. I must say... I'm reasonably surprised by how nice they are at this price point. No idea how long the movements will last though I VERY rarely wear the blue one. I put it on a vintage leather strap. I gave the yellow/orange one to a coworker maybe 9 months ago. These are now closer to $30 - $35. As you mention, there isn't really much of a reason to actually order one of these. If you can stretch the budget just a few dollars higher, get a Pagani or better yet, an Addiesdive, Steeldive or Watchdive. Maybe the Sea-gull with the ST17 movement though those are closer to a dress watch. Better But with a hard limit of $50 for an automatic watch... what else is there? When I first got the blue 'Explorer' I wasn't sure it was chrome over allow. Mine had no blemishes to speak of... until I replaced the band. My biggest criticisms are the brushed bracelet on a polished case, the fact that it isn't a stainless steel case and probably most importantly, the Seagull movement. For $30 more, go for a Pagani with sapphire, a Seiko movement and a better bracelet but for $35 or $40, there is probably nothing better.

The thing with these watches is that they look really, really nice when new. The polished steel, glass, case, strap materials all scratch very easily and all look really bad after being used for a few days. I would only suggest using these for special occasions so minimize scratches. These watches are not for daily or even weekly use. Then again, it's tough to recommend these for special occasions too because they're cheap watches...and I would prefer to use a better watch for special occasions. I don't know, I've bought a few cheap Chinese watches myself and even though they're nice to look at, I just can't find a lot of opportunities to wear them.

I feel like these are decent starter watches. Maybe to get someone into mechanicals. My buddy has a benyar that he wears nearly every day at work and it's held up fine for almost a year.. Picked up the Beynar BY-5140M (black dial with bracelet) new for $25 USD on US's largest online retailer. Mine uses a Langexin LD57 chrono movement. It appears to function the same as a Sunon PE903 and Seiko VD57 although not an exact clone of either. I can't find any info about this movement. What's interesting is the 1/10 second subdial markers are printed wrong. One full rotation is actually 2 seconds, not 1 second. So at 7:44 into the video, the 1/10 counter is actually at 3/10, not 6.5/10. I wish the large second sweep hand was used for the chronograph so I could use the tachymeter on the bezel instead of the small second hand. This watch appears to be a homage of a Tag Heuer Carrera Chronograph. For $25, I'm impressed by its initial quality and function. Will most likely install a leather or rubber strap to replace the clunky bracelet.

No, just Olevs, Pagrne or Pagani are much better and cheaper! They all comes out of the same factories in China, Shenzhen! And no chinese watch is indeed waterproof in any way. 👋👋👋🥴😥

Why anyone would buy these watches is beyond me ,a low tier version of a low tier Pagani watch is baffelling to me ,and i would like to see that ultra shiny case in 6 months time with everyday use

Because costs 25e/30e and for that Price if looks nice, resist a bit and works is worth It. I have Timex, Citizen, Tissot, Rado, Festina, Fossil, Cressi, Casio and that Benyar. And i love It! Looks great, works, seagull is fine and mixed well with some outfits and my little wrist. So why more? To feel superior? For the watch resist more longer? In my case every watch has a purpose because even that i like them they are tools and accesòries, to mixed with clothes or made an specific work (like divers) Of course maybe the snob people will only see watches value for only their prices, origin, or if they are mechanical, because for most quartz are not real watches... My good... For me even if is 20e or 15e watch like Another one Marathon by Timex, that also is quartz, digital, plastic one, etc. Surely you will hate It a lot xd Maybe the Omega that my father has should be better for the taste of his magesty? 😂 Seems the bike's world when i bought my Scott scale for 2500e the bikers says now you bought a true bike xdddd then my 500e bike was not a bike? Holy shit... The watch is awesome and cheap and even if is a homemade a bit smaller of Rolex Oyster is not a copy at least or falsification
