His respect for Bruce makes people respect him

another real fighter confirmed Bruce is real. That makes him and Gene Labelle, Chuck, Joe Lewis, Jim Kelly, The Gracies, Dan Inosanto..and many of today's MMA stars. Yet there are still Bruce haters saying Bruce is not a fighter, never compete in any fight, just an actor, started as a child actor, etc.. So bunch of keyboard and keypad warriors knows better than these real fighters and martial artist??

yeah...that 'seagal pooped' thing never happened. Several people that was on the set that day confirmed it as a make believe. While i agree on seagall being an asshole with co-workers, i do think making that story is not a wise thing to do.

Most of in your list are either under the payroll of Bruce Lee family or just paying respect to Bruce Lee for bringing martial arts to hollywood. Which paved the way for more interested people to do Martial Arts. None of them said Bruce Lee was a legitimate fighter. He was athletic but none of them said, he'd beat the shit out of anybody. The ones you listed would fuck up Bruce Lee anyway. Gene Lebell already did btw

He's right about Bruce having "a huge energy". If you look at his movies or his pictures, you can always sense this incredibly powerful aura radiating from him..

Jack Mehan Bruce fought everyday..in the kwoon you dumbfuck..those "competitions" were various SEPERATE private businesses trying to make a buck off the martial artists ,who were TRYING to make a name for themselves to open a dojo..these money making "competitions" did not represent the whole martial arts world but we're like Rave Parties put on by different groups for$$$..they WEREN'T the Olympics.

You may not understand what a straw man argument is. Pheng Vang didn't say Bruce Lee was the best fighter ever. That said the only way to know if fighter A could beat fighter B is if fighter A and fighter B fought or if fighter A beat someone who beat fighter B. Was Bruce Lee unproven in professional fighting? Yep. No argument. Does that mean that anyone who fought professionally could have beaten him? Maybe. Maybe not. Who knows? As for your argument that "fighting is not sparring" well sport fighting is not fighting either. Had Bruce gotten involved in point sparring, which was the main type of contest in the U.S. before he helped Joe Lewis invent American kickboxing, how would that have proven anything more than sparring? Rhetorical question. Bruce didn't like the restrictions of point sparring and wasn't a superfan even of "full contact." Sadly he was dead before MMA. But again, who knows? As for Tiger Woods golf coach, if Tiger said "He beat me in practice golf" I wouldn't dismiss that as not real golf.

I have met Benny the jet as a teenager in pacific fair, Queensland gold coast Australia, i remember him shopping and he had a big suitcase, i walked right up to him bowed and shook his hand, i think that he was a little surprised that a kid in Australia was a fan and recognized him, also shaking his hand felt like shaking a large rough tree branch 😂i instantly thought wow warrior hands. Thank you Sensi Benny for taking the time to greet a fan 😊😂

Always thought of Benny as an all time great but this video made me like him 10x more.

Him an Jackie had one of the best fight scene of all time meals on wheels tops one of the best besides Bruce an Chuck of course.

I always thought Benny was a pretty scary guy. So scary that in my thoughts I had doubts if Bruce could beat him. But after hearing how much respect he had for Bruce I realized it didn't matter who was better in my mind. Benny respects Bruce. That's good enough for me. And I really liked Benny after that. As great as Benny is he's got class and humility. A real martial artist would never speak against his hero. Martial Arts isn't just about skills. It's also about honor and respect. I think Benny's a real nice guy. Especially when he talks to kids and tells them good things about Bruce.

...and that is why, regardless of how debatable Bruce Lee's actual fighting skills were, he is the greatest martial artist of all time. Because Bruce Lee influenced so many people through his legacy of demos, teaching, philosophy, writing and his movies. Bruce is martial arts defined.

Bruce had no interest in karate point fighting. Proper full contact didn't even come to America until after he was dead. Benny is a legend in his own right, but dissing Bruce is idiotic. There are far too many elite boxers, elite mma fighters and elite martial artists who idolize the guy. If he wanted to be a world champion, he would have been. 4 and a bit movies made in the 70s and they are still making documentaries about him. Wake up, Bruce was the real deal.

Benny got me into boxing as I went from point fighting into Kick boxing (PKA) I got beat by a boxer in sparring and decided to purse boxing and became a Golden Glove Champion.

Mr Urquidez was the first martial artist that I studied under when I was 17. When I say study I mean a book. It was called Training and Fighting skills. I analyzed everything in that book and it was a treasure too me, it changed my life, sent me down a better path as I was a troubled youth. Sadly it was lost over time , I had so many foot notes entered in it. I later moved on to a host of other styles to complete my training. Many years later almost 36 I had forgotton how much influence his book had on me ( I never once watched a video of him ). Now I stumbled on a video of him and it is a tho I have known him my entire life. If anyone reads this and knows him please tell him Thank you. His book set a course in my life like a boat finally finding wind to sail..........Thank you, Mr Urquidez.

keith vitali told in a interview that during the shooting of jackie chan's wheels on meals in france (or is it yugoslavia..i forgot) if there wasnt any scene for them that day.. Benny would asked him to wander arround the city. They would walk in every dojos they could find and challenge everybody. It was Benny that did the fight. Keith was there just to accompany Benny. Kieth said "benny was so tough..he beat everybody in those dojos..". This man is a very tough guy. Period...

I remember back in the early 70's, I was 15, watching a friend compete in the Kata competition at The Orange Coast College tournament. In walk, the Urquidez's brother's (Including Benny). They were beyond awesome! What a great bunch of Martial Arts Brother's!

The Tao of jkd pg117-123 has double/single leg takedowns, heelhooks, armlocks, chokes, the Twister, judo throws/trips. It's striking/grappling/wrestling, literally MMA 20 years before UFC 1

How humble from a guy lkike Benny Urquidez to say that Bruce Lee was the best. Mrs. Urquidez became among the best. Sifu Lee was certainly a great martial arts man that achieved great deeds in a relatively short time. I heard Jeff Speakman say that Ed Parker was the Einstein of martial arts to him. I feel the same way about Bruce. So maybe Bruce was a Isaac Newton... you know great innovators. But Bruce physical prowess were unbelievable. I achieve many of them, but I never was able to do that one inch punch Benny talks about. I like to hear stuff like that from old timers that knew Bruce Lee, because without making Bruce Lee a myth, he was, I think a great man and that in one's martial artist path of learning we should at one time explore a bit of his philosophy on fighting hand to hand. It is like a classic now that you should not miss.

Love both these men. Bennie use to come into our Dojo in the 60s with Alex Chavez. I thought he was a super hero as a kid. Many years later Macado was a Ref for my son as a teen. He was so cool with him at 14 fighting adults. God bless you guys, many generations of fighters to come.

All their lineage and students.the fact that these masters have taken the time to say kind words about bruce is so beautiful. .if he was alive..and was Brandon..they would be right by your side.for master urquidez I always refer to one of best fight scenes of all time ..with Jackie chan.the swinging hook kick blowing out candles.at my kenpo school we would rent those on VHS. I would sit in middle splits and watch all of the jet's tapes.and of course the epic ground system of my brother's the Machado's brilliant submission systems.💯🔥🥋😊 bruce is smiling from heaven

One of the producers of enter the dragon Paul heller clearly stated that realistically bruce was the best of all of the other fighters. He went on to say bruce was incredibly fast and had timing also reflexes he defied anyone to match to this day. Fred weintraub advised bruce when challenged to fight them after the film was completed. Ian Robinson uk.

After all of these years I just Google Benny's age and realized that he's 65 years old. I got into boxing via attempted to get into PKA Kick boxing after point fighting and became a Golden Glove boxing Champion. Thanks Benny for the inspiration.

Benny is soo humble. I can never forget watching a you tube video where he held a kicking pad for Chuck Norris and how he said Wow! Then shook his hand like it was hurt to make Chuck feel good. The kick was obviously lack any power lol. This many is humble, nice, gentleman and a good human being.

I believe Benny recruited Judo Gene Lebell to learn to grapple and to fight a Gracie (Rigans cousins). One of the best kickboxers of all time.
