I did a seminar with Benny. He was such a well spoken, gentle, spiritual and humble person. Such a Legend. Even at his age, his strength, speed and technique was amazing. His knowledge and teaching style is fantastic. I was so impressed in only just that meeting. If he taught in Australia, i would definitely be a student. Dan Inosanto.. I really hope to meet one day. He's a living martial art encyclopedia. A true scholar of the combative arts. A legend beyond his ties to Bruce Lee.

Mr. Urquidez is the BEST kick boxer America has ever produced. He had beaten the best kick boxers (Muay Thai rules) in Japan in the 70's and 80's. He was also a LEGEND in Thailand.

Wow what a great video, I could listen to these two masters talk all day long. It is not everyday you get the opportunity to hear these kinds of stories from Martial Arts legends who are so loved and respected. I love the six "S" teaching, which is what one needs to be a champion. 1) Strength, 2) Speed, 3) Stamina, 4) Skill, 5) Strategy and 6) Spirt. As Guru Dan Inosanto said, Benny the Jet has all six! That is for sure Sensei Benny is a true warrior! I love seeing what respect they have for each other. Thank you for capturing this historic moment and thanks for sharing on KZread!

Terrific footage to have found and see. Hearing Benny and Dan tell us how it was before the UFC. Benny looked like he lost a lot of weight. Was he sick or just older? Don't know how old he was in this video. Dan said he was 79 here. Hasn't changed that much. Pretty much the same build. I liked how they were very respectful of each other. That they weren't prima donnas. Benny was also very gracious. Saying how DI "inspired him". Which I think was a stretch. Just being a good guy. While Dan Innosanta is a very accomplished "martial artist"...Benny I think is the total package. Great martial artist but with actual ring experience. Winning kickboxing fights anywhere. Meeting any one. And winning. There's things you can only learn in the ring. Don't need to be a fighter to know that. And they're both humble.

When I was growing up, Bruce Lee and Benny Urquidez were my heros. I am happy to see Benny passing on his art and his skills to the younger generation. At 5:17, Benny mentions the Gracies coming in and challenging everybody, Gene, myself, everybody. I wonder if he accepted the challenge and if there is any footage. That would have been a really interesting video. Also, off topic, I was sitting in the Detroit Aiport and I saw Guru Inosanto getting off the plane and was thrilled just to have seen him. Then I tapped the guy next to me and said, "Hey, that's Dan Inosanto!" and they guy said, "Who?" All I could do was sigh.

Interesting hearing two of the biggest names in American martial arts. "Legends". Though I'd give that more to Benny as he was a fighter. World champion. Dan's been around and studied with so many great masters. I like how there's mutual respect between them. No "I'm better than you attitude". Interesting Benny survived so many fights. Doesn't appear damaged. Able to have a conversation and teach. Others would have been damaged too severely. Slurred speech. Health problems from the internal injuries. Many have died (Thai Muay Thai guys...never talked about). Takes but one clean blow to the head to forever change one's life.
