There will always, and i mean ALWAYS people who will be better than me and you, like this man, and his INCREDIBLE PERFORMANCE,, i know it's only a saying, but its true, practice really does make perfect,, but if you're not enjoying it, stop, and stop now and find something else, another passion that truly gives you pure joy, just like watching this did for me, and I'm sure hopefully you too, some people yes are born to do things, others can still learn, but perhaps aren't born to do it, i believe this man was born with rhythm in his soul, take care either way, 🙏

Due to lack of technique and creativity. Most of them. A few of them are outstanding musicians like you would find in any genre like jazz, fusion or funk. But a good portion of them are mere blast-beating, double-kicking, speed-obsessed caveman.

  • @solsinclair1909

That's fairly elitist - and disagreeable. Not that I don't get the sentiment - but even amongst 'caveman' techniques like mere blast beating and double kicking, there is art and depth to be found. Without a doubt not as much as the traditional genres, no need to shit on it though.

He often plays Sonor. My first "serious" kit was a DW Custom, but because of Benny and others (such as Chris Coleman, etc), I am definitely considering an SQ1/2 now. I can't think of a video in which I disliked the sound of those drums - and yes, there are DW videos I'm not as impressed with. I don't own a Sonor right now, so I'm far from a fan-boi. I'm just saying the sound of their high-end gear (re. Benny) is where I'm at these days...

It's a demonstration of a tuning trick where the the 3 lugs closest to you are left loose while the rest of the lugs are tightened high. The result is by tuning the 3 loose lugs you can easily change from a fat low end sound to a high pitched funk sound very quickly. There's a few videos about it out there.

You can get a really rich, deep booming thud from a 16" floor tom if you put an Evans EMAD bass drum head on it. use the smaller of the two damping rings supplied and away you go. Of course it will also need a new resonant head - a G1 is probably the best idea, but you could try a G2. I put a little fluffy toy in mine and it has the same effect as cotton balls, but with added wackiness. Mine is a rabbit, but that's just because I found it lying around. You could use any small very fluffy toy. P.S. While you're changing your heads, make sure the bearing edges are super-smooth. If they feel at all rough, then lightly smooth them down with some extra-fine sandpaper - like emery paper - and rub some candle-wax into them. Do all this and your floor tom will sound like a monster!

I love his orchestration... Literally can make so many different "instruments" with just one instrument... This separates musicians from drummers

Benny has been a huge influence on my playing and philosophy towards Music and drums- I love the 1/2note splashed HH to start things out- how he builds into things-- just amazing playing all around!!!

Dear Benny, I was just introduced to your drumming yesterday. I've benn drumming for more than 20 years now. Must say your drumming is refreshing and the kind of atitude drumming needs. Reverb on the bass drum: TOP. Been bateling for that for years with technitians and I'm joked about it... Impressive, good vide and creativity. I love Antonio Sanches drumming, but I give you the best drum solo till this day, the more interesting to listen and combinig several stiles. You made me like double bass something verry rare... Abraço from Portugal!

Er ist einer meiner Favoriten , weil er sich auch von seiner Spielweise sehr stark von vielen anderen "Spitzendrummern" unterscheidet. Und, egal was er spielt, man fühlt immer den Puls!!!
