Cost alone should not be the criteria, we should avoid unnecessary imports. India exports Metro rail sets to developed countries too. I cant say the idea to import due to low cost was a sensible one.

Therefore that 50% extra cost has more advantages than disadvantages. Therefore better to do domestic sourcing as much possible.

For all the hyper nationalistic people out there, a Chinese state-owned company won the contract with the lowest bid, but they couldn't fulfill the Make in India clause, so they had to tie up with Titagarh Rail Systems in Kolkata. So, for all the people shitting themselves about our Forex, rest in ease cause the Chinese SOE had to reinvest their dough here. :)

No actually because of restrictions on the import of Chinese rakes, CRRC had to find a partner to manufacture these rakes in India. All further trains will be manufactured by Titagarh wagons. In order to facilitate this deal, there has been delays.

Driverless trains are effective in reducing operational costs in developed countries because the cost of hiring a driver is quite high. In India, where unemployment is high and the salary of drivers is comparatively much lower, a driverless train may not provide much of a benefit.

Driverless is more safer -- This is safety features that is the attraction -- All flights now have auto pilot purely from safety point of view NOT to reduce Pilot .. Human beings are not that smart as AI powered machines with split second actions

These trains use a lot of components from other manufacturers. German trains are much more expensive and China in recent years has the most experience building trains. Most of the technology is based on German trains so indirectly, we get German trains at a much lower cost.

So only the rich can travel by car? Please keep your ideas to yourself. People will travel by metro is last mile connectivity is fixed and if public transport like BMTC improves their services. It currently takes 45 mins to go from North Bangalore to South Bangalore by car. This is the same time taken if one was to go by Metro from Byapanahalli or MG road to Kengeri. Why would anyone choose the metro if they have to hire a taxi to get to the metro station and the final destination?

No it's not all the metros across India are manufactured in India by beml, medha, alstorm except the banglore one and that too because of the driver less technology which is first time in India and talking of the bullet train it's Japan who is giving us the shinkansen technology not the Chinese.

The metro tracks with the concrete pillars are eye sores. Hope the areas are beautified once the important task of construction ends. Also at 4:28, is the gap between the different sections supposed to be that big?

Don't blame China, blame our hapless state-owned manufacturers like BEML, Integral Coach factory that are asleep at the wheel. These companies were established in 1950-60s. In 2019, we get the Vande Bharat that runs at 180 km/h. Meanwhile Shatabdi which came out in 1988, was capable of going 130 km/h. Compare this progress to Chinese companies. In 1997, Chinese trains were running at 160 km/h, much slower than Shatabdi. But by 2008, they made a train that could reach speeds of 350 km/h.

As an owner, I am hoping price of my Electronic City apartment doubles after yellow line becomes functional.

Cost of RnD is very high. Just for the sake of India people don't invest in it. Trust me I work in Rnd sector and pay is pathetic and manufacturing technology scale is not like China. So authority don't care if it's china made. Cost is indeed lower in China than any other country because of scale of manufacturing tech. I hope.

@@sathyab7368 I know but you have to understand on a grander scale everything cannot be done through make in india. The chinese company has partnered with Indian company to make, so the initial train is from China.

Driverless - why? We need more jobs? (Who are these decision makers)? Safety is different - not mislead. ADAS is different from driverless. Import vs home made. I’m sure everyone knows the answer.. but also new tech.. it’s a balance. Tell the news guys so they can report better.

Why can not hire Driver to you car to give JOB ?. Driverless is a Safety feature NOT reduction of JOB ..

Unbelievable.

Next they should plan driverless in all the transport networks as we have got so much of advanced technology in our country at present

Hope the central government is taking a note of these people buying train form china. Center has to attract business in indian buyers as well by reducing the cost and increasing the quality. Hope one day everything will be made in India

Shame on Namma Metro. The first trains were built by BEML with Hyundai Rotem as the technology partner. But in 2019, they handed the contract to CCP-owned CRRC! Absolutely shameful to fund a Chinese state-run firm.

They have to look at cost. The Chinese company has the lowest bid, so it is an advantage to BMRCL.

Whene ever technology improves , it will take some jobs for sure -- Compputers in BANKS tooks so many jobs -- Imagine if the transacation are handled manually m, we would have needed crores of clerical staff in Banks -- Technology reduces cost -- JOB for the sake of it is not good.

The guy is boasting about low cost, while he should’ve been doing that for safety, speed, timely deliveries, sticking to deadlines and about not making a mess of the city! What the metro needs is a comprehensive and simple payment system and a careless and physical ticketless metro!

Imagine being called the "Silicon Valley" of India and you can't build your own metro trainsets with AI. Shameful.

@@abhishekverma3866 Relations with China were never normal even before 2020.. From 62 they were cold now they are just colder.. They could have ordered them from BEML for a indigenous boost just like delhi metro..

India is a 140 crore population so one may drive the train,

I am from Bengaluru, regret i have to travel in China train😢
