Nothing fancy. Just a quick video after taking the X model of the TRK 502 out for a ride whilst the Himalayan was in for a service.

I can hear the bike snobs snarking from here, good vid mate...looks a good bike for the price. Not everyone can afford 16-20k for a bike or willing to get into the pcp trap so might be worth a test ride.

True rich I can only afford second hand bikes got a cb 500s and a vfr 750 they can both do what expensive bikes can do just not so flash lol

That's quite nice looking and a lot of bike for £5,500! I'd consider it. Just waiting to see if Honda do something more "adventurey" with the CB500X. But I can't see the Honda coming with new suspension and spoked wheels and all the trimmings for the current price of £6000. I have considered the Himalayan but for me it's just that little too underpowered for faster roads and motorways.

I've looked around and sat on both and for me being taller I preferred the Benelli TRK502X, but the RE Himalayan is more off road capable, as both are good bikes its a tough call and I can't decide myself.

I recently went to Motocorsa in Gillingham Dorset to look at a RE Himalayan and had a good look around their demo Benelli TRK502X and sitting on it I thought it was a really nice bike, to me at 6'3" it was a much better fit then the Himilayan, and it should be plenty fast enough for UK roads.

I think you got the seat height wrong. It's meant to be 840mm not 890mm. At 890 nobody would reach the floor

Regarding the weight, keep in mind that it does have all those extra racks, guards & stuff included, which people seem to forget when they compare it to the CB500.

Sadly, this bike is just too much (too tall) for me. I will go a bit smaller and get a Leoncino 500 instead. Not so much offroad possibilities, but for streets it should be quite nice.

@@l.sracing9022 In the meantime (June 2020), I got the little lion. It is a lot of fun. As I really loved the fully flat enduro seat on my old XT 600, I customized during winter 2020 the seat of the Leoncino. The seat dip is gone, a gelpad installed. Now I can change my butt position from time to time, and I gained 3 or 4 cm seat height. Which might be just enough to relax the knee angle to an ideal position (on the stock Leo, it felt always a bit tight during summer/fall. No problem during riding, but lifting up to dismount...that was hard work and very uncomfortable. I used a pair of cycling shorts - the ones with gelpads - which were a real relief. So I knew I wanted a more permanent solution.). Now I am waiting for spring to test the new setup. I really hope it will be a smooth start of riding season, as during our first few month we had some electronic hiccups...I really missed the old analogue stuff. We visited the dealership 3 times, because he forgot about the fuel indicator the second time. Not the best customer service...but maybe I found an alternative for the next service.

Not Just VanLife I own a Himalayan and it’s the best value for money in that price segment but it’s half the horses at 411 cc. But in India I would rely on RE any day for its service. Advantages of the TRK is More power Dual ABS Maybe looks

@@frankpawar2205 looks wise while world would turn to see this... and exhaust sound... trust me... pay more and get benelli... already it has over 150 booking before launch in India... also Himalayan is 25bhp.. 190kg... very under powered compared to this.. benelli market growing 30% in India

Yes Honda has levelled the playing field a little bit there. It would have been better if they'd have been spoked but then they wouldn't have been tubeless, so maybe the Honda has the best compromise.

In June 2019, Royal Enfield will be launching the Himalayan 650 with twin cylinder and a stronger chasis with a bigger fuel tank and I'm sure will be priced lesser than the Benelli TRK..

Assembly and quality check are made at Benelli factory in Italy. Just like BMW in india.
