    Good stuff, there is a lot of useful info in the review. So you are saying that the wind protection is good, are you? Does the wind hit your upper arms and shoulders? Also, what was your reason to pass over the vstrom in favour of the TRK? One more question, would you know by chance if the sitting position and comfort are different on 502x? Thanks!

  • @WolfMates

    @WolfMates

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hello Peter! Thanks! Those are all nice questions. So, the wind protection is very nice. During winter i hardly feel any cold since the air only hits my feet and part of the lower legs and maybe a bit on the upper arm. Also im 1,80cm the stock wind screen trows me alot of wind into the helmet. With a extension it was fine (maybe a little bit in the top of my helmet). The older vstrom was very nice bike for sure but i honestly didnt liked the look and not easy to find with ABS, but it was my favourite before the TRK showed up. Suzukis are realy nice! The seating position is identical on both TRKs, the only difference in ergonomics is the distance to the floor +4cm but with a low seat its only +2cm :) Cheers! Thanks for watching!

    Hi there, Not long back from my road test and wow, what a great bike. As a current owner of a 2017 GS and having owned a few more in the past, I cannot understand why we/I are so obsessed with large capacity engines when we travel on our own at normal speeds on country roads. I have asked the dealer what price they will do as they have had it for some time.

    Exacly what i felt John :) I always wanted a big "trail" bike but i never wanted 1000 or 1200CC. Specialy on Portugal they are quite expensive and as well the taxes. In Portugal we pay for the engine displacement (750cc its 130€) These values are quite big considering Portuguese incomes :) Cheers stay safe!

    @@WolfMates thank you very much, Lone Wolf. :-) I ask you because of long tours from Switzerland to Ukraine. There are 6 dealers in Ukraine. And if you have dealers you should have people in Ukraine who can help me in case of some possible troubles with the machine. Spare parts in germany are available in 24 hours, it is maybe nearly the same situation like in portugal. Maybe it depends on the specific spare parts you need, that you will get it sooner or later. Viva. Parabéns pelo canal. Hoje fiz test drive à TRK502x de 2021. Gostei da moto. Bem confortável, gostei da posição de condução. Mas senti da a travar muito mal (travão da frente) e muita vibração pelos pés e no assento. Mas mesmo muito. A travar muito mal. Fiquei com a impressão que se calhar era daquela Mota em particular. Como são esses dois temas na sua moto? (Vibração e travões). Obrigado

    Olá Luís :) Muito obrigado e bem-vindo! Em relação á TRK X, não sendo um travão muito forte quando mal se toca na manete (o que é bom para os menos experientes), trava muito bem :) O traseiro é que é mais fraco mas quando ajustado fica aceitável :) Em relação às vibrações, o motor da TRK sendo um bi-cilindrico a 360º o mesmo não tem vibrações a baixas rotações, terá muito poucas nas médias e acima das 7000rpm irá ter algumas de alta frequencia :) Pessoalmente ambas as TRK que tive tinham muito poucas e era raro incomodar :) Sentiste essas vibrações na auto estrada?

    Not realy, the TRK gearbox is quite nice. If the oil is improper you might feel the gearbox more clunky. Thanks for watching :)

    I see you have good experience with different bikes before moving to the TRK. How do you feel is the performance of the TRK 502? I used to ride a Harley 883 Sportster which I recently sold and am now looking for my new bike. I took a test ride of the TRK 502 and although the performance is very similar the Harley, it was slightly less. I really liked the even spread of torque across the rev-range but when I needed a quick burst of acceleration, I noticed that I would have to give it full throttle and it would just about make it. I don't get the surge that I would get with the Harley. Now I was riding solo on the test ride, so I'm afraid if it will be even more noticeable with a pillion and luggage. I'm mainly looking for a big touring motorcycle that can comfortably carry me and my wife with luggage. I also tried out the Kawasaki Versys 650 and there the performance is more than adequate. But the TRK costs a lot less, has much better stock equipment level and I like the TRK more in general. I'm just afraid if this slightly lower performance will bug me later. As you have owned some more powerful bikes earlier, I would like to know how you feel about the TRK's performance? Does it still excite you after a while? Love watching your videos, keep them coming! Greetings from India!

    First thank alot for watching and for your comment :) For me the power of the TRK engine is enough for long range touring with fully loaded bike. I never felt lack of power in any circustances, like freeway at 120kph, or national roads at 100kph, even overtaking is safe if you use the gearbox and keep the trk near 5000rpm :) Of course its not as powerfull as the Versys 650 and it weight is greater but the engine manages it quite well and gives pleasure to ride it. However is not a explosive engine that your throttle up and get a surge of power like your said ;) So do i feel the need for more power? Not realy. I even changed my rear sprocket for a 39T (instead if 42) that made me loose about 7% torque and still feels good. And the fuel consumption feels very good as well. I normaly keep it bellow 4 Liters to 100kms. But i dont ride much with pillion ;) For "two-up" i recomend the 42T (stock on normal TRK) or even if you go for TRK "X" the 44T (stock on the TRK X). The bike with 44T gets that surge you were talking about even more :) The TRK is such a nice motorcycle for touring :) No problems with her so far almost 2 years hehe. Thank you once again and greetings from Portugal :)

    @@WolfMates mine is a bit different setup, rear sprocket maintain original 42T but I replace front sprocket to 15T, I got roughly around 6.7% decrease of torque but speed is roughly increased from 100KM/H to 107.1KM/H. Compare to your setup(assuming you maintain original) front sprocket 14T and rear sprocket 39T, your torque will roughly decrease to 7.1% but speed will roughly increase from 100KM/H to 107.7KM/H. * You can get apps Chains and Sprockets from Google PlayStore to give you some estimation from such combination of sprockets Can you point out where did you get rear sprocket 39T for me, I might as well try the same setup next time. @@mutanic82 well it seems that 15F (front) is a little "Better" on torque since it only looses 6.7% torque. Mine's 39R (Rear) is like you said 7.1%. And after some trips I did, specialy when i went to Picos de Europa in spain with my 39R arround total 3000kms, it was nice to have some conclusions. 39R is very nice on the highway. I was doing 120-130kph nicely keeping the total trip fuel consumption bellow 4liters to 100kms. On the other hand on those big mountains i had to use 2nd gear alot and even some hairpins in 1st gear. I was using 3 cases + tank bag with medium weight, no pillion. With pillion it would be bad! hehe If it was for today i would probably put a 40R :) Thanks for watching, happy new year!!
