    I think his last try was 426kg. 12 years ago, that was incredible strong. Now there are many people who can lift that number. Crazy

    Casual. 426 raw are still a lot no straps, and benni is still the goat at raw deadlift no straps with 461 WR, go somewhere else.

    @AwryToast Ammonia. It's a small ampoule filled with ammonia and wrapped in paper, you crush it between your fingers and inhale in through your nose. It get you jacked up before you lift heavy weights. Powerlifters do it all the time.

    @Birdpoofool Powerlifting is more about brute force. Yes, the deadlift is a technical lift compared to a bicep curl, but pales in comparison to a snatch/CnJ. So yeah, they can psych up all the way without worrying about channeling the energy the wrong way, unlike oly lifts.

    if people dont realize, to pump yourself up like that, puts out adrenaline in your body, and when you have those adrenalines pumping out, you lifting perhaps over what you can do normaly. He is so strong i cant believe , i really enjoy this, he is pumping himself up to not drop this weight, he is so commited!

    @Birdpoofool its pure psyching up. olympic lifters might not do the full dance like magnus does here, but they do the same, you always see the trainers slap them and shout at them to get the peak adrenaline and focus up. Ever seen Coleman lift, hes shouting all over the place to get pumped

    @thisismyytname Yeah thats not recognized as a world record outside of the arnold classic. I think the 974 is much much more impressive, especially when you see the video of the 1100. The 1100 is essentially a knee height rack pull

    @AmusingYeti regardless his accomplishments and prelift rituals - touching the bar by leg or stepping over it is considered as offence among athletes all over the world - if you ever trained, you should have known it. Of course in Iceland, the may have different habbits on opinion. I`m just speaking on the wide-known fact

    Well now let's take a look at the scenery. Benedict is very strong and never uses straps. Bolton uses straps sometimes to train the back and forget the grip until later in training. Bolton is the ONLY man to pull 1000 pounds. Who's the better deadlifter?

    @Sixup even then i wouldn't get this guy mad, i doubt even brock lesnar could deadlift 1100 lb, and they're around the same weight i imagine, plus it's always the guys that don't fight that end up winning in a street fight, martial arts got nothing on adrenaline-fueled rage mixed with the power of one of the world's strongest men.

    It's a shame these guys don't get the same world wide recognition as other athletes, maybe it's because of the drug use etc. But fuck that, who the hell is gonna be impressed by some skinny natural guy who will probably deadlift 200kg at most? Drugs take this sport to a new level and actually makes it exciting to watch.
