Actually listen to their arguments. You will realize the black kids entire argument revolves around skin color... 'Only black people can say this, white people cant!' Ridiculous, this teacher is trying to show how flawed the kid is, but the kid is obviously deficient and can't be saved.

@Devin Barclay okay 1) I’m completely the wrong person to say this to. My comment was about how the student felt about it, not whether it was right for the teacher to say things or not. If you really think your argument is worth fighting about, go pick that fight with someone who’s saying something relevant to the conversation. I made no comment on the state of the slur, just how the student reacted. I’m not even black, and I don’t even listen to rap, so I’m not even sure where you were going with that. And 2) words that carry meaning carry impact. I don’t care if they’re patented or not. It’s about the impact they have, not who they belong to. If someone asks you to stop saying it, just *don’t fucking say it it’s not that hard.*

No. Respect is not something you give to fearful people who bow to societal pressure. Respect is for people who do their job properly. If this kid was raised to think the number 4 is racist, and he cries when the math teacher says four, the kid is wrong. When the kid says "I'm black so I have this right, and you are white so you don't have this right" the teacher that tells him that is racist deserves respect.

If we can’t educate each other and discuss things then the world is Never going to change. You see antagonist I see an educator. The man wasn’t saying it to be confrontational, he’s saying to be equal and have the conversation that he felt was necessary, he ask the student multiple times why he can say it but the teacher couldn’t, students reply is because I’m black…. I’m srry but wasnt the point to be equal and if he’s not calling or saying anything in a derogatory way then how is he out of line. The man simply was having a conversation with the student. IMO this is what’s becoming the problem with out country, people are easily offended over some other the most ridiculous things, even when it comes to opinions, people don’t even like you to voice it if they don’t agree with you which is ridiculous. I find it funny that the teacher was able to have a calm and collected and mello demeanor while the student was pissed cussing and slamming shit the kid could have easily been suspended, and I’d also like to add that school should be a great place to learn and converse on these matters such as long it’s educator and student if the dialogue is brought up. This teacher is by no means racist and anyone who would conclude so clearly is part of the problem with the country and get offended and is biased for obvious reasons

You can't deny that it's a positive word in some communities. Since it's a slang word, every community can give it it's own definition. In some communities it's synonymous to a friend. If you don't want people to use it then stop being racist and stop considering it acceptable for some set of people to say it. The teacher from a strictly technical perspective is correct but might not be so from a ethical perspective because many communities still have a negative definition to it. @@bluefire4378 When someone uses the N-word they should understand the severity of the word regardless of culture or context. If a black man can say the N-word; and he holds a double standard that states a white man can't say the word on account of his skin color; he clearly doesn't have any idea on how logic works. For people to even advocate for this word is absolutely absurd and unjust, all I'm saying is if someone were to truly advocate for equality; they'd understand that you can't discriminate or hold a double standard against someone on account of their ethnic identity. I've been called "honkey, white boy, cracker" etc and nothing was done about it. Yet, when a white person uses a derogatory slur against a black individual it starts to matter. This literally goes to prove how utterly incompetent some people are; and it makes me sick to realize we're having this discussion in 2021. I honestly feel like the N-word either should: a.) Be refrained from use totally; regardless of ethnicity Or b.) Be embraced by everyone as a reminder on how the black and white communities have achieved success in the issue of race. (Basically don't go in the opposite of what equality was meant to be) It's clear to me that someone of your status may have had prior hate conflict(s) with someone about racism; so allow me to tell you that if you truly understand the semantics on this issue; please refrain from making further prejudice remarks/suggestions.

@@JoeMama-yr5ki I just don't understand how this person didn't see that the teacher was wrong (thought they were probably being sarcastic). I didn't take sides. I totally agree that nobody should say words like that. But It most definitely should not be said by a white person for any reason. Why, cause our people were enslaved and that word stems from what they called us (and some still do). What makes it worse is that it's still going on today. Please tell me how is that prejudice, I'm interested. Just like the n word, crac*ker is from the crack of the whip. Again I don't believe people should be saying these words. Yes they are wrong and offensive. Both are wrong but the teacher should be especially careful because of his race and career, so it adds more to it even if he isn't saying it in a bad way. I will gladly have a argument to get my point out. Again I was trying to see if that person was being sarcastic. If not I would've backed out and kept to myself. But sense you said I was making a prejudice suggestion I decided to respond and clear it. It is among the words that are used so much to the point people think that it's okay. I won't make this a problem if you don't. Thank you very much have a wonderful day. Btw for your information this is technically my first time having these types of debates/aguements. IDK if this counts but in a vid I was PARTIALLY defending a white woman for saying the n word, it wasn't an argument I was stating something most people can relate to.

How about freedom of speech. If you don't like it you can leave the country. Yeah you shouldn't be a dickhead but telling people what to say and think are far worse than saying a word that might offend somebody regardless of what the word is. If you think you own a word or even worse you take the racist mindset that a "race" can own a word then you have some serious issues understanding basic logic or just lack morality in general.

Why is this teacher keeps on arguing with a student? The teacher should de-escalate the situation instead of keep provoking him.
