No. The most amazing thing is that Uncle Tony started his career doing graphic novels. And in 2018 yours truly and her 5 friends created a first ever graphic novel about trauma and mental illness. So even after 2014 I never stopped being his pupil. Antonio Mendez, this is for you- 6 art shows in 2023 alone and 2 more coming up. You ARE my hero.

Ken Taylor was definitely a hero of the operation. Without him they would have been taken. However, the whole Hollywood angle was 100% Mendez's idea.

It's a great movie....just watched it. This is the kind of movie where you shouldn't read into, until after the movie to learn the real facts. Otherwise you won't enjoy the great suspense and thriller this movie throws at you. This movie never advertises to be a documentary either.

For those who wish to know the truth about the 1979 U.S. hostage crisis, I will be glad to talk about my film THE GOLDEN VEIL, which was released on 1/1/11, long before Hollywood decided to make a film about the subject (ARGO). I am an independent film maker.

Movie was beautiful. Tony Mendez is a true hero but was right about keeping it quiet cos countries that are in conflict with the America see the United states as liars and definitely not trust worthy. this has just made it worse. sad thing but still a good story to be aware of.

Gee, why would they think that? Could it be because we live in a 52/50 Twilight Zone where even someone as brilliant and talented as Jonna Mendez has to take her marching orders from...Red John and his Blake Association. We're no longer a democracy- hell, we're not even a meritocracy.

My God, you're pathetic. You make it sound like he was in Paris or Acapulco- not a country taken over by a bunch of murderous fanatics. Uncle Tony could have been arrested and tortured to death or shot at the airport during that one day. Go and do research on the first years of the Nazi Germany and the Russian revolution and civil war when any sadistic psycho with a gun was the law. Why do you think there was not a single monument to or a street named for the first Head of the Kharkiv Cheka? Go Google " Saenko ". That torture with a rat from one of the Fast and the Furious- the Cartels didn't invent it. Saenko did.

It's all for dramatic effect, bud. Did you feel extremely nervous when you first saw the movie? Yeah. That's the feeling Ben was going for when he directed those parts of the movie. Don't say it's inaccurate. OF COURSE it's inaccurate. It's a MOVIE. >.

I don't know if Miguel Ferrer was still alive but I would have gone with him. Not because he's " family " but because Aunt Jonna keeps on talking about an agent as " a grey man " ( somebody " perfectly ordinary " ) and Miguel would have been perfect.

Saw it on KZread a couple days ago after reading the book. This is what's now considered Oscar caliber? There isn't a 3-dimensional character in it. The suspense everybody praises never seems genuine, it's contrived. The real events must've been pretty scary -- who needs familiar Hollywood suspense gimmicks to make it dramatic? When the big chase came on at the end all I could do was laugh.
