I think what it is about it is that Belly was afraid of how real the love she has for Jere is. Like she knows that what she has with Jere is real loved and that what scared her the most. So she went back to Conrad (after her and Jere’s first kiss) because its sort of a dream/ delusion u live in to escape from what’s real. She afraid of the love she has for him cause it’s real and genuine love

Exactly! The dialogue at around the 4:12 mark of this video says it all. When Belly kissed Jeremiah in S1, she told Taylor she felt something real for him in a way you can tell she wasn't ready for it, in which Taylor replied "isn't love supposed to be scary?". The word "real" in Belly's vocabulary as it pertains to her feelings means "true love". She went back to Conrad, her fantasy, in S1 because she wasn't ready for true love. Hence why, fast forward to S2 and she & Jer finally kiss again, she keeps telling him what she felt with him is real, that she wants something real. It's her way of saying she's ready for true love with him. It's also why Belly was able to move on so easily from Conrad in the week depicted in the show. Since S1, she's felt more for Jeremiah than what she's allowed herself to admit. Hence why when Jer & Belly grab each other's hands on the Tower of Terror in S2, Belly looks terrified because she's finally allowing herself to realize she feels so much more for Jeremiah, that there's a charge between them she's been denying. The girl has been in love with Jeremiah since S1, but because she was scared of her feelings for him, she used her feelings for Conrad that were based in childhood fantasies as a shield.

Well, considering it's literally said love is scary, and Belly realizes her feelings for Jer in a scary moment... made not as scary with him by her side.... it seems that the ride is a metaphor for love being scary, but if you have the right partner supporting you, love is also exhilarating. I don't know, but it seems like there was purpose to that.

Jere is the obvious pick in the show. I really hope they change it up from how it ends in the books honestly. It’s a beautiful story of true friends to lovers!

idk why? but Belly feels so much more prettier with Jeremiah? I know that's weird but with Conrad its like she has no personality besides being in love with him. With jere she kinda glows, and it feels like she has a brain and a soul, she is not obssessed with Jere but she still cares and loves him. That's the best kind of relationship.

Yeah i agree. The kiss in the Season 2 finale, didn't feel like it was scripted /on screen. It felt like it was real life. That wasn't Jeremiah and Belly kissing. It was Lola Tung and Gavin Casalegno 😍. Imagine if we're together in real life.

I've read all the books, just finished the last one. Their story in the books is soooo different than in this serie. In the books I kept roling my eyes at Belly, but in the show she is going after him not the other way around. She told him that she wants him, not him just randomly kissing her. I was rooting for Jelly in the books, but they rushed things. Their relationship here feels so different, they are my endgame and I hope they just change it up, because its what they all deserve

100% this ⬆️. I read the books too. Belly and Jeremiah in the books are different than Belly and Jeremiah in the show. They did a variety of changes like how she kissed him instead the other way in the parking lot and that motel kiss scene never happened in the books where she loudly chose Jere. And Jeremiah seems much more mature in the show. The show producers seems to really want us to root for them . And their chemistry in the show omg 🔥🔥

She knows this and still chooses Jere even when he said: its okay if you go for Conrad, it feels and hits different than the books. I just hope the producers see this and realise it while making season 3 and give us a different ending than the books

thank u for including the whole situation where conrads "asks" for jere's "permission" to date belly and then LIES to belly and makes it seem like it was all good and smooth and fine. IT WAS NOT. jere openly made it known he was unhappy with the situation and unhappy with conrad, he did that multiple times, he did not pretend even for a second that he was fine or over it. the fact conrad knew the only reason belly wouldnt be with him is because she loved jere too- he manipulated her to get what he wanted. he also robbed belly of time her and jere couldve been spending with beck before/as she died because he wanted to be with her. he didnt just lie to belly, he mislead jere into thinking she didnt care if he was hurt. he never actually cared about either of them, just himself. Idc what anyone says but Gavin Casalegno is one of the young new promising actors ! He has such a screen presence and charisma captivating charm that he can fit in wattpad male lead characters live adaptations ! Smokey blue eyes, dirty blond brown hair, athlete body, tall frame, hot sexy tan skin.. the guy is wattpad inspiration seriously! If he dyes his hair in black he would kill it even!

Stunning.. I fall deeper in love with them after each edit I watch. lol Belly and Jer are so enchantingly written and so delicatly brought to life by Lola and Gavin. The warmth at the center of their relationship is so genuine. I BELIEVE in their love, which took me by surprise. I can feel it though my screen. Lola is so pure and radiant. Her "Belly" is ethereal, a "goddess" in his eyes. And Gavin's "Jer", so soulful, wise beyond his years, is Michelangelo's "David" come to life. His beauty and perfection is almost eerie..Otherworldly. The passion and depth of his love for Belly and her love for him is something to behold.

If the third season is filmed according to the book, he will end up staying with Conrad. I am asking the director to change the ending. Conrad is her first love, but the chemistry between her and Jere is incredible. Every time he kisses her I feel butterflies in my stomach.

Putting it all together like this, I can clearly see that a) belly just thought she had been a fling for jere that first summer until the truth or dare kiss sitch and b) how many times she tries to show him she's sorry and wants him to feel chosen. There little moments together are so cute.

What I think is that belly had a crush on Conrad for so long and she wanted to see it through but she didn’t realize that Jeremiah was the one. She blocked out all the potential relationships because of a crush she had on Conrad

There are so many beautiful moments. They are the endgame for me here.

Your summary of their love is absolutely brilliant. They're soul mates. I've read the books, and I know how Jenny Han ended it and because she's an executive producer, so I don't suppose she'll let Belly and Jere stay together forever. BUT I hope that with the great success of the show and the great chemistry between Belly and Jeremiah, she will split her third book into two seasons. I am so Team Jellyfish! Urghh they are so addictive.. their chemistry is off the charts! I never read the books.. but I know what happens in it and who she ends up with. Lets just say I hope that it will be like the change they had in TVD where due to Electric chemistry they changed the story en it was Damon who Elena finally choses 🥰 That makes me feel happy that they will not always stay True to the book stories and will add changes when the fanbase is so big.. So i hope there is a really really big Team Jellyfish base hihi so that this will be endgame. The love she had for Conrad was based off of fantasy, Conrad also had a lot of growing up to do and had no business being in relationships. But all the love she had for him was made up in her head, all the daydreams, and yea they had a good relationship for a while because Conrad is a good person and I think he really did love her and care about her but he let all of his issues get in the way. He didn’t think about her feelings enough and he did not communicate well. When they were talking and he said that he really thought that he was doing right by her shows how he just isn’t good at communicating and just shuts her out because he thinks he knows best. He gets in his own head to much. At the hotel instead of talking with her and letting them get closure he does the really immature and mean thing and just says that he takes it all back and he didn’t mean it, he probably thought that he was doing her favor and giving her the freedom to choose Jer, but she was going to choose Jer anyway, he was really just trying to protect himself and again not realizing that even though she was moving on he was actually being hurtful to her. All of her experiences with Jer were real encounters, real bond. Jer never for one second played with her emotions

yesss! i always say belly had an imagination of love and unfortunately for conrad she put a face and a name to that imagination.Conrad was not who she loved AT FIRST it was the imagination she made in her mind but then later CONVINCED herself to love him when she actually got to know him.She was in love with the IDEA of what he COULD be. Once she realized he’s not who she thought he was she then realizes jeremiah had been the one who she always knew and that’s what she loved about him. It’s that it was real.

Thag show's that Belly has had real feelings for Jeremiah and it wasn't just a week loke Conrad fans like to say. Her love for Conrad was based on a fantasy she held for him as she had a crush on him for the longest time whilst the love she has for Jere is true, deep and real. They are the true definition of endgame not Bonrad. Conrad has a lot of growing up to do before he can be in a proper relationship. Also calling the Jelly kisses forced is just wrong as they are not forced at all. They are full of passion, love and chemistry. The Bonrad kisses however are the ones that lack true chemistry and passion. Bonrad does not give endgame vibes in the same way that Jelly does. The third book clearly showed Jere being destoryed as an character just to allow Conrad to be the guy for Belly. He has not once ever been the right guy as he continues to hurt her and push her away. Jere is the right guy for her and the only true valid choice as husband, lover and soulmate.
