Belmopan is a great area to head out in all directions to check out the main land of Belize. The islands and the coast of the country get all the attention, but there is a lot to see on the main land that most tourists miss out on!

@@francescostrangis9703 hey. I'm from Belize. I don't recommend you visit. Pray that you don't get sick. Crime rate is high. Police abuse is bad. I recommend costa rica, san San Salvador or even tikal Guatemala. But if you visit stay away from Belize city, stann creek district and the southern part. San ignacio is a safety place with nice people. Take lots of sun protection.

like all places you have to use caution and do your research about where to stay. yes there is crime, but you have to be a smart traveler no matter where you go in the world. Patrick works in law enforcement so this is his primary concern on every trip we take. The stay in Hopkins was about $45/night (rustic) and the stay in Belmopan was about $110/night (resort) but we had to eat most of our meals there which really added up over a few days. We read that it was safe to drink the water in resorts, but we still used our water filter for extra safety. The mistake we made was drinking fruit juice from the market & that may have made us sick...but now we know better! the Islands in the Northern area of Belize are said to be a great tourist spot with beautiful beaches, but we didn't make it up there on this trip...hopefully next time

we were also told to avoid Belize City due to crime. We did get sick on the last day (I blame that on eating fruit/ drinking the juice from the local market- our mistake). Now we are hearing travel advisories against travel to Guatemala, but that is also supposed to be a beautiful country. We looked into Costa Rica, but the price difference was large

Just to note that asana or postures is the 3rd limb of yoga or the 8 limb path & yamas the first limb with ahimsa to do no harm in thoughts, words & actions & discouraging smiling which is being present & mindful & to name call is a reflection of the person & not buddha nature not to mention hurtful. haha- the country or the video? Belize has its good and bad for sure (and this was the first travel video that we ever put together- so it was a learning experience) - it is nice that you can visit a tropical country with world class diving & most people speak English, it is not very expensive and there is incredible natural beauty on the coast & in the jungle. But there is not a strong infrastructure or reliable medical care as you may find in some other countries, and as mentioned in the video- for a country that relies on tourist income they do not maintain the beaches very well.
