Not many tourists visit the Botanical Garden, so this is a refreshment. Saint Mark church is modelled after the Gracanica monastery in Kosovo (14th century) and its appearance is similar. The Saint Sava Temple has a big story - in 1595 the Ottomans burned the relics of Serbian Saint Sava. 300 years later, in 1895, a Society was formed, to build the Temple at that spot. Construction started in 1935, resumed in 1985, the central dome which weighs 4,000 tons was lifted in 1989, but it wasn't until a few years ago that the Temple was completely finished inside and out. Now they are working on the area outside the Temple. The Roman Well is actually Austrian :) Pljeskavica (pronounced plyeskavitza) is a Serbian version of a burger.

Pljeskavice su starije od hamburgera tako da su hamburgeri Američka verzija pljeskavice!!!😂😂😂
Thank you very much for such a nice, thorough, informative video about my city. I have left some additional comments below. Really well done and it was a pleasure to watch.

Beautiful❤
18:21 that tower is interesting to me because its twisted. When you look at it, it's bottom is narrow and top is wide but if you go on side and take a look at it then the bottom is wide and top is narrow. Anyway welcome to Serbia and hope to have a great time during your stay here.

Great video, guys 👍. However, I think you missed visiting the so-called 'Belgrade Sea,' Ada Ciganlija. It is actually part of the inner core of the city and is considered the third most beautiful river beach in Europe. It features 7 km of beaches and a 9 km long pedestrian walking path around it, with many restaurants, an adventure area called Ada Safari, numerous sports courts, and a protected part of the island with forests containing rare plants and mushrooms. It is truly beautiful.

Thanks, you should definitely visit. The people are amazing and the country is beautiful
👌👍
This was a beautiful video of my city, thank you 😊 I do have a general question, but maybe you can help me out with it? Why do vloggers, in 99% of cases, completely ignore the rest of the city (outside of the historic center)? Your visit to the Avala Tower was a nice change, but I can't help but wonder why New Belgrade (almost twice the size of the old town) is completely ignored? Zemun municipality, with its stunning promenade, is also almost never visited. And lastly, in the summertime, Belgrade has an actual beach with beach restaurants, music all day, water sports, golf, etc., at Ada Ciganlija. All within 10 to 15 minutes from the old town. It even has a nude beach part, haha! One would guess those parts would be worthy of tourists, or at least for vloggers to make content. And yet, almost all of them go just to Knez Mihajlova, Kalemegdan, and most recently, the Waterfront. And that's it. I get that those places are the most popular, but Belgrade is much more than that, and it's a shame that many parts are generally unknown to tourists :)

Thank you. It was our first visit to the city, so we typically do the "touristy" things on the first trip. We are planning on visiting again, most likely many times and we will get out to see more region. Thank you for the information, someone else had mentioned Ada Ciganlija I will have to visit. We are looking forward to another trip to Serbia, thanks for watching!
Great. Don't wanna ruin Alex's business, but while in Beograd, you may go to Novi Sad frequently, there is a speed train which get you there ( and back, later ) in 35 minutes .
