How about talking to locals and getting the pronunciations of places right. Not that hard. As is, it grates on your ears if you know those places, and it is misleading if you don't. Little effort can go a long way.

I have seen quite a lot videos on Belgrade to be honest, and i think this was the best one yet!! I look forward for more videos that are all over Serbia, not just the capital city. Thank you so much for the effort you put in, definetly deserves more subscribers. P.S. just for people watching, there is a lot more to see at Ada Ciganlija that was missed, but keeping in mind he didn't have any local to show him everything it's okay!

For easier pronunciation of Serbian streets or food, to English speaking tourist, the best way is to replace (in your head while reading it) letter J with letter Y or letter I. You will be much closer saying them correctly. This is specially useful when asking for directions or taking the taxi ride etc. This rule can apply to most countries in former Yugoslavia. Still, wrong pronunciation doesn't take away anything from this video and great editing. Also 4K quality makes the difference too. Choice of attractions are spot on. It is good not to be bogged down too deep into the history as it will open the can of worms which is actually shame. People who come over here to argue about the history they never made their own video and dont understand no one cares about their opinions outside of their countries.

❤ @@januslog

Ottomans called it Dar Al Jihad, House of the Holy war. How it was seen for centuries, probably to this day. They either wanted to take it, or destroy it. Weather it's just strategic, or there's something more to it, we'll never know, knowing how corrupt our academia is, and how much it loves benifits that come with following orders, nodding, not shaking the boat too much. We had couple of archaeologists saying reports on their findings troughout Serbia were hidden, rewritten by their higher ups. Some things are not allowed to be talked about. It's inconvenient for many, I assume. From foreign investors, gouverments building on top of archaeological sights, to trying to mould findings to whatever they like, want, for various reasons. Like now are changing Vincha culture to Danube one, and even J@wish, for some reason, are trying to be squeezed into it, like one archaeologist said. Don't know what's that going to look like at the end. And think, with Ottoman records, was bombed, approximately, over 3700 times. From cannons to bombers, every method was tried.

Congratulations! You haven't pronounced a single Serbian word correctly! You need a special gift to do that. J is always Y. And you have numerous pronunciations for it. And Dušan, is Dushan, you pronounce it as SH in the word SHIP. And you pronounce it like the first sound in the name Gillette. Come on! Skadarlija (Skadarliya) is Skandalicha to you? Congratulations. Bajloni is again instead of J = Y, it is G from Gillette to you. Then you know that Mihajlo is J = Y, but Ada Ciganlija is Ciganlitza to you AGAIN. And you missed one big thing, related to Belgrade at night. I am talking about 'splavs', ships that are used as places where you can enjoy all kinds of music, great places to have a good time all night long.
