Must be so hard for the Somali chap- with no friends and no family in Russia- must be so lonely for him.He has family in somalia, but feels lonely there, too. Loneliness- the curse of the modern age.

Its a bloody shame, however, most countries have homeless people, that's why I don't understand why refugees from other countries get treated in a better way that the indigenous people, especially in the UK, USA and some other countries. I can speak from experience that the state of the homeless in Scotland is a terrible tragedy. (not for the refugees and immigrants though!)

Do you see a common denominator here? It's more than the alcohol use. Even with the African guy, there's a pattern of familial attrition. The breakdown of extended families seems to be endemic, and the phenomenon has made serious inroads upon nuclear families as well. I see it where I work and with my own family too. One goes from having "family" to having "relatives". I work as a counselor at a drug and alcohol rehab here in SoCal. It's part time and I'm continuing schooling in a Pharmacy Tech program to have an additional employment option. I'd like to work and grow for my entire life. Retirement can be fine if you want it, but it should also be fine, and possible, if you elect to work. Working is especially preferable when you don't have a tight knit family. Earned income is important because Social Security Retirement benefits here are paltry and when you reach 65 the government deducts a monthly Medicare premium from those benefits in most cases. This happened to me a few months ago. 65 in the US is treated like a human shelf life expiration date. Only you get put on the shelf instead of being taken from it. If your means are modest, options keep devolving to placement in a retirement home which usually takes all but 30 or 40 dollars of your monthly benefits. So there you end up with very infrequent visits from whoever's left in your disintegrated family. And in my case, it's my relatives who are both drinkers and better off for now since they're younger.

Properties are cheap in most states in comparison to Canada. That's what will save you in retirement. Get a house with a separate entrance to the basement and high ceiling height for a little basement apt. to rent. You can even live in the basement while you rent the upstairs, if you really want to save money. If the house needs a little work , you'll get a good price and just put a cosmetic face on it upstairs, like nick paint a few plants, pretty drapes, etc. . Lonliness is a plague. Alcohol, neglect of the poor , relationships before marriage, it's all causing social ills, Maybe you coul. d start a recovery group for men online who want to learn how to treat women better or whatever. Most men think they're kind to women but not all women. With alcohol came disrespect for women. Or a website for men who want to do things like discuss life topics or go fishing or something? Big brother? A really good friend can be like family. If you lobby governments to help the poor and sick, you will feel better. If they make the change, you will feel great. just some ideas that might help. I have similar frustrations but am unable to work. You still have a lot to be grateful for.

They have put emphasis in the voices which is a thousand times better than the automated voices. Thanks to the person who thought of it. Brilliant documentary. I live in Australia and I don't think we have any system anywhere that one has to do chores for food....which is a good idea to segregate infectious people and give them medicals etc.

felt weird about something in this pseudo documentary ....the camera work is very stylist or childish amateurish , but if you look at certain camera angles , its interesting and most of the people have makeup in the face and they never look or very rarely look at cam direct .....hummmmm
