Being Held Captive in Nigeria and the Gaza War with Rudy Rochman

Ойын-сауық

Rochman's work primarily focuses on shifting the global, ideological, and political conversations regarding the Jewish People & Israel, uniting sectors of Israeli society, locating & bringing awareness to the disconnected Tribes of Israel worldwide, and generating innovative ways to combat antisemitism.

    I’m Igbo, and I apologize for What Nigeria has done to you. That is what my people face in this illegal union called Nigeria. They don’t like us, yet they won’t let us go and have our own country, they even go as far as ostracizing people who support us Unfortunately, IPOB, a secessionist organization here was resident in Israel for a while, and the government refused to recognize them. Nigeria is largely Muslim, except we the Igbos, Nigeria has also entertained Hamas leader despite the Igbo outcry to not have any association with terrorists. As long as Nigeria continues to exist, this will happen to Israelis who come to Nigeria.

    59:46 Excellent point. I wish Rudy would have responded. I like his man on the street work, but he’s a bit delusional. Somehow, contrary to all the evidence, he’s convinced himself the Palestinians just want to be able to live from the river to the sea. It’s bizarre he can’t acknowledge the getting-rid-of-all-the-Jews part.

    General Eisencot lost both his son and his nephew in the war in gaza . The IDF is the people army , not the government army . In the 2000 many of our pilots were on strike because they opposed the government . Igbos are one of the most intelligent ethnic group , and very successful as well , it’s bad news for jewish humility

    I enjoyed this conversation in part because I was skeptical of a large percentage of the content. I'm happy to see hopeful young israeli activists dreaming of a better future for both Israelis and Palestinians and Jews in developing countries. This man is doing admirable work and thinking on a scale that seems to defy facts on the ground and major powers at play. But hey, impossible problems require impossible solutions.

    Always found it interesting how Jewish public intellectuals were full in panic mode day 1 with covid no questions asked. The neurotic woody Allen thing is true. All my fave jews were full on panic. For being so smart I'm surprised they neve looked at the data and saw that young people not at risk and that every panic move didn't work.

    Do you know the German origins of Jewish last names? How and why? Who paid what for which names etc… or the law that required it? ⏳

  • @BaconAwesome-sr5xq

    @BaconAwesome-sr5xq

    My understanding (my family has one) is that prior to 1787, a lot of European Jews didn't have fixed last names, which was inconvenient to the various states. In 1787, the Austrian emperor ordered his Jewish subjects to take fixed German surnames, and various other people did similar things after that, or names would be assigned by census takers. I imagine some of it was intended to force more assimilation, but I'm not a historian.

    What annoys me about every conversation Noam has had since pretty much Norman F was on the podcast, is that there are no facts discussed, just rhetoric and narratives. There are no hard facts, no discussions of operations, no cited reports, no research, no quotes. Just "Arabs hate Jews", "Hamas steals stuff", "October 7 bad", "Germany love Israel", "Siege not good, but...", "Palestinian civilian human shield". All this surface level talk sucks and betrays some of the more interesting conversations that were being had on this podcast at the end of '23.
