Paul, as someone who is in the opposite situation of you (a Mexican living in the UK), I have to say I love your videos. They help me to cope with the nostalgia, and also it makes me happy to see a foreigner who appreciates and enjoys the good things that my country has to offer. Xx

Great to read that!! Really is a pleasure to make these videos. One reason I started the channel was because I watch vloggers from Japan and China (I used to live in both) and they really do serve a great purpose for people feeling nostalgia for the country and are no longer there. So I thought why not start a channel for Mexico.

Although I practically grew up in the country, I still get those weird "I'm out of place" moments whenever I go to a party, or just chat with friends. Most people have enormous eyes when I tell them that I am foreigner, and start asking me if I know the language, which to me seems very absurd, but understandable.

Jaja, I didn't expect to hear that! But it's very common to hear that in the UK. I use it! It was the right thing to reupload as I want to protect the ears and and gear of future TM viewers. It was actually quick to fix. A simple '-' was missing in the music audio track. I got punished hard!! But a reupload is something that happens to everyone at some point for different reasons.

  • @FlordePrimavera81

  • @TrueMexico

I was! The response was brutal. The issue was that a simple '-' was missing on the music audio track. It meant people using higher quality ear phones or speakers were punished with massive increases and decreases in sound. It was the right thing to reupload especially considering future TM viewers with ears and expensive gear to protect. Thanks for your support as always!

I find myself and countering the same things with people in this area where some people will get in trouble for traffic violations and others might not because the particular officer or authority may not want to go through the headache of completely putting someone's life on hold because they might know or not know if that could affect them tremendously.... not to mention all the money it cost to arrest them for every little thing they could do. They will be back don't worry amigo! A big reason this channel grew in the last 6 months is because of the type of videos that I have been making this year. They are just a lot more popular than food videos. But you are right, food and places videos are really important. I see the future of the channel with me visiting different places in Mexico and of course trying the food. A bit like a travel vlogger going to new countries...I go to new places in Mexico. But for that to happen the channel needs to grow and get support. At some point I will talk about my Patreon but I haven't yet as I want to get into a routine of more frequent videos and make time for it. Thanks for your support as always!

True Mexico Right now your channel is still growing but maybe in the future when your channel becomes very popular and more people will donate money to your Patreon Page maybe then you'll be able to Show Mexico from different parts of the Country and something I can do for you besides donating you money is to share your videos to many people ho don't know your channel so that they can subscribe to you and make your channel bigger, you know what... I am going to do that for now on I'm going to share your videos and send links of your videos to people who don't know your channel. I ones did that like every time I saw videos that have to do with Mexico I read Comments of people that would be like ... Mexico is such a Beautiful Country or Mexico's Culture is very interesting and then I just answer this people telling them things like.. if you want to know more about Mexico Check out this Channel is about a British Guy doing videos about Mexico's food, Culture and also he talks about he's point of view of him living in Mexico... and then I just send them links to your videos. But I need to do that again for now on every time I read Comments like that I'll just send this people links to your videos, I mean you have such good content you Have to make more videos all over Mexico at some point Right Amigo Británico 󾓪 👍👍👍😁😁

I spent very summer in Mexico on my families ranch in San Julian, Jalisco. I also lived in Mexico for 3 yrs as a child and several as an adult. With that being said, I agree 100% with what you said. I don't always "standout" but I must admit I do use it to my advantage when needed. Partying with Mexicans is the best! I love it when the Mariachi comes out and the crying drunk men. Haha I've traveled some and San Julian is still my favorite place. My 5 yr goal is to save some more so I can build a house on the farm I spent a good portion of my life on and has some of the happiest memories of my life.

This is all so true. I have been visiting Mexico for 17 years with my wife's family. I have always made friends easily but never so easily as I have in Mexico. We sell at a local flea market and I have made a huge amount of friends with the other vendors. The secret as you say is to not take yourself too seriously. If you try hard to fit in and laugh with them at your mistakes you will have nothing but a great time. I have never felt so at home in a place as in Mexico. They believe in the three things I do. Church Family Friends.

2 things: 1. Come to Tijuana. It's very different here imo than where you're at. MX City is like L.A. or NY, whereas here is just, well, different than what I'm hearing; 2. Try being of primarily MX descent AND a foreigner. You will inevitably commit a cultural faux pas. But you will be expected to know every single little thing because of your skin color. And they love to point it out. So for example I just keep to myself. I stay inside. "Pocho" is the word used to describe people like me.

My Mother in Law has a school in Mexico plus the family likes to sell toys in the flea market and I help. I try hard to dress and act like everyone else so that I fit in and show that I am trying. In the 18 years we have been doing this I have developed some terrific friendships and it is just as you say. The secret is I don't take myself seriously and go with the teasing. I will probably retire in Mexico but far away from the Expat populations. I truly want to be a part of the warm and welcoming culture I have found there and not an outsider just coming into town from a super expensive walled neighborhood. I have visited San Miguel de Allende and was terribly disappointed by the way the Expats acted. I preferred Guanajuato Guanajuato and San Luis de la Paz. I really love my Mother in Laws home town of Celaya. You are spot on on everything you have said about Mexico.

I really enjoyed watching this especially because the things you mentioned were true, don't see that very often. Something you might not know or didn't mention but unfortunately people who are from Mexico but for personal reasons grew up in America are considered foreigners as well. The fact that they also speak Spanish, that they also know and live by the same traditions and cultural customs of Mexico, are never truly accepted. For the most part of course but Mexico does have amazing people and make up for the ones that aren't always nice.

i honestlydidn't notice the volume being so high in the other video. cos I'm used to turning the volume down cos my ears are kinda sensitive to loud sound. playful bullying is kinda annoying but fun at the same time . the nicknames.. oh well.. that my dad's family side and sometimes they make me laugh. just saying. and yeah, I'm Mexican but sometimes i get mistaken as foreigner cos idk how to pronounce the letter r. and it's pretty annoying. but I've lived for 5 years in the us, but it's not bad i guess.
