Being A Mean Mom

Ойын-сауық

The plaintiff is suing his mother for holding his things and refusing to return them. He is suing her the cost of the items. The defendant claims that her son was arrested for a DUI, and she took the car, which is in her name, away from him. She claims he got so angry that he moved out of the house and told her she could do whatever she wanted with the stuff he left behind.

I’m really wondering if the dad or someone else abused the son and then he turned around and did it to his sister. Either way, this case was shocking and sad. They should not have been on tv with this. My heart goes out to the sister, she is a certified survivor!

Nobody could have foreseen that bombshell. Totally separate from that is what I've noticed about his demeanor, attitude, monotone, lack of emotion, etc that has become so common in males currently under the age of 30 that use to be extremely rare. My son and all his friends in their mid to late 20's are like a hundred generations removed from my own. As a whole they are so removed emotionally, emasculated and trying to redefine what is naturally male, lack social skills in comparison to every previous generation. I'm proud of my son and love him in every way but it's like he and his generation largely rejects anything masculine and having a really difficult time finding their true selves or place in this world. Not at all the same with my daughter or her friends in the same age group.

I'm pretty sure she allowed her mom to say it. You can see her nodding to Michelle before she says it. But still, even though I don't think he would've won the case if they omitted the assault, it _was_ relevant information if they ever wanted to counter his abuse allegation. If they only said "actually, my husdband wanted nothing to do with him after an incident that happened 4 years ago", judge Marilyn probably would've asked for clarification anyway. I don't think they should've aired it, but I think it wasn't out of line to bring it up (since Alexa seems to have agreed to do it).

Or did his parents wait until he turned 18 then have the sister file charges against him ? Because if it was reported at the time it happened. Both children would've been taken away. She only mentioned the S/A (AFTER) he started talking about the extreme amount of abuse in the house. His mother really wanted to change the subject because, she probably suspected, He was getting ready to tell the world, what really went on in that house. His mother seems extremely vindictive. Why would she try to destroy her 19 year old son's life. I suspect there is a whole lot of Dirty, going on in that family.

I'm not sure that he sexually abused the daughter. If he's guilty, he's guilty. But if he's not, I'm not accusing someone of something that I don't know for sure. Mom seemed like she "couldn't wait" wait to tell that irrelevant detail in the case to "get back" at the son. Mom is a loser. Dad was probably abusive to the son (must have broken his nose at some point, too) and tried to make himself better by using the so-called abuse (we have no facts that it actually happened) as a way to make himself look better. Daughter has issues. Son has issues. Father sounds like he was abusive. Mom doesn't seem to want to talk about anything that happened to the son, just the daughter. Everyone is at fault. Bad parenting.

Some things I find odd... The mother seems relatively unaffected by her daughters trauma ... rather, she is seen smiling as if she was vindicated yet her daughter is in shambles... The son mentioned that he has been the black sheep of the family since he was 7, and whenever "someone" needed a scapegoat, they used him... The daughter said that the son bought her a bike for her birthday ... I'm wondering how close they were, and why were they so close if he sexually abused her? Was the bike a token of his remorse? Were they so close because they were made to keep a secret, and we don't actually know the full story about the abuse? Were they protecting the father? The son was arrested for a DUI and the mother said this is the first time he has acted out in this way ... why was he drinking so much to be 3x the legal limit? He was alone when this happened, so I don't think it's likely that he was drinking in a social setting ... and he went for a walk afterwards with a baseball bat ... what was he trying to do? The mother was concerned about him doing something with the bat, so who was he going to see with that bat? I understand family drama, but when a child sexually abuses another child, I don't understand why people think it's a good idea for the abused child to live with their abuser ... she seems very strong and very empathetic, but I keep wondering how they managed to become close if he sexually abused her? Even as kids, I would never have a relationship with a sibling who had done that to me ... I've never been in that situation, but I can't even wrap my head around it ... I understand families need healing but THAT seems like something you keep your abused child away from... As others have said, there's definitely more to this story, and I am very interested to know what role the father played in this ... I kind of hate catching a glimpse of their life and having so many questions. It was a really good episode though.

I've had family members bring up my own traumas to garner their own sympathies and its nauseating. (Despite her saying she was okay with it being mentioned.) I feel like the plantif went through something similar tbh. Abused people, can tend to also become abusers, sadly. Acting out situations they've been through. He brought up 7 being the age things changed with his father... What exactly happened to that boy at 7? I feel like he was absolutely abused, in all the ways he mentioned and perhaps more. I feel like the mom refused to see or believe it. Leaving him broken and him in turn breaking his sister. Both children need healing and my heart hurts for them both! 😔💔

Something about that mother bothers me. She's not telling the truth and I think she's manipulative. The smirking she was doing at times was unsettling. It was like "Haha, I got you there!" Referring to her son. She was SO quick to out him as a molester in front of every one, nailing him but embarrassing her daughter at the same time, just to get her dig into him. Perhaps he really was treated as the family scapegoat/punching bag. He's just done with damn near everything in life and I feel like he feels he doesn't have much of a future since his whole family dissed him. I hope he seeks therapy and he doesn't go down a very bad path hurting any one else.

@@TTHeavensent- 1) There is ZERO proof he's a rapist. That's entirely your assumption. Even the defendants didn't say that. Sexual abuse includes a lot of things. If it happened (we saw no proof), we don't even know what happened. 2) HOW was he proven a liar?? Because I can point out things that don't add up that the mother and sister said: a) "He was allowed out under my supervision." No, she was only his sober ride out. He was CLEARLY let out on his own recognizance, as he was the second time (you're not getting better terms after a second arrest). IF he often took the bat with him (which the judge never asked), then the mother calling the police was clearly vindictive. He also said he bought the camera after she said it was lost (that one is not proven). ALL things in this case are mostly alleged, other than lies people were caught in. b) The daughter said her and her brother were getting close until he left for Jobcore, when he changed. Since that was an apprenticeship program, it was CLEARLY after he was 14. She also said she wanted nothing to do with her brother only after the sexual abuse was mentioned in court. Why now when they "were getting close" after the alleged sexual abuse? It doesn't really add up. The mother also only brought up the sexual abuse allegation, when the plaintiff said he came from an extremely abusive household. I'm sure the timing wasn't happenstance. Not only that, no one denied his allegations. Children normally don't sexually abuse other children unless they have been sexually abused. How was he PROVEN a liar? Proven. Not someone's flapping gums. Perhaps I miissed it, but I didn't see him proven a liar. He didn't lie about how drunk he was, it doesn't sound like he lied about the abuse he suffered. How was he proven a liar? I HOPE you don't mean the sexual abuse, or not getting punished for it. We saw no proof either way. Only the mother's flapping gums, and she already lied at least once.

Right. These judges are freemasons etc anyways and since its reality tv its doctored up. Anyways.. If more people knew about narcissistic personality disorder and how family units with 1 or more narcissists operate, this case would make a bit more sense. Golden child, scapegoat/black sheep. The mother absolutely seemed like a narcissist. I grew up with multiple and they will be devils behind closed doors but everyone on the outside thinks they are saints, and they even convince people who know what they are to team up against you. The reason the son seems to have dead or flat expression is most likely from all the abuse and "grey rocking". The mother and father may have been jointly abusive to both the kids, but the daughter sucks up as a saftey percausion as the golden child. The children can end up becoming narcissists too. Both the mother and father could have sexually abused their own children. This does not excuse the son sexually abusing the sister, if that event is true.

I don’t know if anyone else caught this but that mom is a liar and a control freak. She knows that was the son’s car and she took it because she wanted to control him. He did NOTHING just wanted to leave the house at 19 and she called the police saying that he left with a bat and had him arrested. He was 19, she was only a sober ride. He was not ordered to stay around her or inside of her home, yet somehow she made sure that once again he knew she was in total control of him. Then the glasses, he wasn’t even allowed to take HIS glasses back to get the new prescription, SHE held those too along with everything that boys his age value (I’ve raised 4 boys and a girl, 2 I adopted out of foster care and have been a foster parent for 15 years. This type of abuse is extremely hard to prove because the abuser has everyone believing that she is a loving mother, when in reality she is all about control, these type of parents will do anything including pitting her children against each other. They single out one child and they get all of the abuse where as the other(s) can do no wrong. They shower the others with love and praise and consistently tear down the other even when they speak to others they don’t come out and call their other child a piece of trash but they make off handed remarks, they plant seeds of how terrible the other child is. I keep replaying this and couldn’t for the life of me understand how a mom can tell all of America and a courtroom about her daughter’s abuse by her OWN son. She did it at the very moment the judge started questioning her and it didn’t put her in the best light. What she said should have never been uttered in a courtroom over material items that mean nothing to her but she was willing to sacrifice her daughter just to make her son see that no matter what, mom ALWAYS wins. This is a sick woman. Even at the very end after she had won, she had tore him down to NOTHING and told the world he was an abuser (a minor mind you) her daughter was humiliated and in tears when Doug was talking to her and he was apologizing to the daughter she cut him off cheered and said “we are strong” because it wasn’t about her daughter it was about her. She won. She showed him, she put him in his place once again. She is a toxic, sick woman and I hope the daughter gets as far away from her as she can as well. Normally, I try not to cast judgement on other parents because you see a lot with foster care and dealing with kids who are going through a lot but this woman and her chosen type of abuse is so hard for others to see. She was not answering the judges questions because she wanted to control the entire narrative and she did. She held that ace until she felt threatened by exposure. The brother, even after being away from her was still hesitant to give the whole story. I don’t know what happened between he and the sister but I’m guessing she was truthful however I wouldn’t be surprised if it came out that the mom was sexually abusing the son…for years or even hurting him in some way that involved his manhood. No matter what the case she is a real piece of work for selling out her daughter and son on national tv.

Just because you share the same blood as another person:relative, that doesn't give them the right to mistreat you.! Period.

Does this 19 year old "adult" realize that he needs to assume some grown-up responsibilities? The sister's assertion that her brother was different after returning from Job Corps is also troubling.

Exactly! I think something happened to him there... they do live in dorm style arrangements. And it’s usually like lost kids who don’t really finish school so you have all types of people there. Something definitely happened to him

So they were best friends before and after he raped her. But he changed after jobCorp. Something about that doesn't seem right. .

Or because he was trying to out the dad and mom for abuse and they couldnt have that hapoen so they sent him away. I bet the dad abused him and either the mom abused him too or she let it happen, which makes her just as bad.

Okay i was not expecting that, and I dont know how to feel about mom exposing that on TV. I pray that the daughters can find peace in all this. Everything is just a hot mess.

If you're an adult and you get a dui, you are always released on your own recognizance if you are released. Him saying that he was released to her is a total joke LOL I've had one, they wait until you're sober and then they release you.
