    Thanks for this! I've been eyeing the 150; I have a competent semi-modular in the Minibrute 2s, and my Eurorack setup is currently entirely homebrew stuff, but the prospect of an inexpensive (for Eurorack) combo of ring mod and s&h is very appealing.

    I have been crossing my fingers that someone would demo the old patches on the new system 100... thank you. I was originally going to go with the Behringer system 55 but the system 100 seems creamier, and each modules seems to have at LEAST a 2 in 1 versatility. So its no contest for me. FYI I never sub... but you have been subbed.

    It sounds really good. I don't know where, exactly the goodness is coming from, but def some big, beefy, fat, warm bass tones. Great percussive action, too. Thanks for the demo. I want to get into Eurorack and their prices are good, so I would now consider some Behringer modules.

  • @limbicbits

    @limbicbits

    3 жыл бұрын

    In comparison to SH101 / SH-01a (can't judge MS-1 though as I only know it from demos) the System 100 sounds a bit more retro meaning that you've certainly got that big round artificial pulse wave you know from the SH-series but the filter is a bit rounder. On the SH101 I found it to sound more nasal, acid-like. Also, I think SH-101 has this overall melancholy to it which comes in part from its envelope. The ones on the System 100 are a bit snappier

    Thanks for the Demo. Great sounds. I wondered if you could advise on a Behringer case. In their System 100 marketing videos, it looks like there are 6 modules in a 104hp case so I assumed it must be the Behringer Eurorack 104. Thomann, however, have advised that it's too shallow to accommodate some of these modules. Seems strange to me as there are no other 104hp Behringer cases. Do you think they're right or is it an information error? Cheers

  • @limbicbits

    I think, they've been using this one but it's currently not available: www.thomann.de/gb/behringer_eurorack_104?offid=1&affid=397 I guess it should fit but tbh - when it's up to the case and especially the power supply (which wouldn't be included here) I'd choose an alternative solution. a) www.thomann.de/gb/arturia_rackbrute_3u.htm?offid=1&affid=397 b) www.thomann.de/gb/acl_evz1_84.htm?offid=1&affid=397 Both should give you enough power reserves and a reliable / proven high quality PSU the second one gives you additionally more space.

    robthebloke Hmmm. There seems to be a lot of confusion on this as Thomann are now selling five of the system 100 modules and the Behringer 104hp case in a package. • @limbicbits

    @limbicbits

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@caveofsleepers I'd say that whether or not a synth sounds better is based upon personal preferences so I wouldn't go down that route. Neutron might be described as a bit rougher and the System 100 obviously has more Roland Sound in it. But if you like one or the other better is up to you.

  • @KNHSynths

    @KNHSynths

    having both and forced to (respectfully) disagree too. The VCO don't sound the same, the filters don't sound the same... and one is a semi-modular with plenty of possibilities but just a semi modular with 1 filter, the second is a modular system, a very clever one, allowing to do things you can't with a Neutron. The simplest example : you can't add or change the filter of the Neutron, with the 100m you've go at least 2 VCF and if you want to use a Jove80 (or any other filter) instead, you can... So they definitively not sound the same and even if it was true with the simplest 100m starting set, it will become false as you add or change modules, interact with other modules from other makers, etc... A Neutron is and will stay a Neutron (it can interact with an external modular but this implies to have one, with a 100m that's sure you've got at least one).
