Just went through this process...no spare...what a nightmare
I hate this trend of not having a spare tire. I have a Honda CRZ and it's a great car except that it doesn't come with a spare tire. Fortunately there is a separately sold spare tire set that you can get to install one (which I have done). It causes there to be a little less storage space in the back but it is well worth the trade off in my estimation. The fixing kits are no proper substitute.

As the report says, the tire is not serviceable once you use that kit. If you have an AWD vehicle, you cannot replace the one tire, rather you have to replace all of the tires.
Next they will make gas tanks 4 gallons "to save weight & get better mileage"
buying modern cars is a expensive mistake glad i buy old ones

Everyone should write to their Congressperson. EVERY car should have a spare, it is a huge safety issue.

Some cars never had them or cannot have them. For instance, a sports car might not have one as the weight already was an issue. Lamborghini's don't have spare tires either.
