Hate to say it but everyone here thinks that they are higher than god when really everyone is connected. Positive and negative energy, mass, gravity, strong and week nuclear force. If you kept up with science instead of focusing on harboring terror you would realize that energy can be turned into matter and that’s are god. The huge collider found the higs particle which happen in the 1st 1 billon of a second which turns energy into a mess than into every element. This is the Big Bang and you should be teaching your young ones to do great things and maybe we can stop war and focus on reality and time. That is what we have in this universe.

I really liked this style of documentary. There was no constant narrative trying to control my view of the subject. It just let me make my own assertions and opinions. I would love to see more of this style of documentary. I thought it was wholly impartial. Good job Paul.

This is one of the best documentaries I have ever seen! They look so human and real, way less dehumanizing then in our western coverage. I know there is some propaganda included, but we have propaganda too. I absolutely respect these people struggle against our occupation, they have the right to govern their country according to their rules and culture.

I find it incredibly difficult to say that one side or the other is "right" in their fight. I imagine that if another country were to declare my government as illegitimate and invade my country to "liberate" it, I would likely do the same as these men are. The guy said they are scared of the white mans bald head, meaning they have some fear of white men, never though I'd hear a Taliban say that. Also I do remember hearing that the Taliban, Native Americans, and a few other groups of people believe that grown out hair gives you abilities that studies show give better intuition in combat scenarios, so the bald head comment makes sense because it shows that the taliban view them as evil since the taliban believe that god can only aid in combat skill and US guys dont believe in that, they have no god. Biggest respect to afghan people

Powerful footage. I’d be lying if I called these men evil or wrong. I never fought these guys, but I was the Sunni Triangle N of Karbala in 06, and in Anbar province N of Fallujah in 07. we lived outside the wire on outposts, and ran missions/patrols every day. I saw the people we were at war with living their daily lives. It’s hard to justify us being there, it didn’t take long to accept that the only reason a lot of us were fighting not for any of the bs reasons, but only to ensure we got ourselves and our buddies home.

not really. had the taliban not been supported by the afghan masses, the taliban would have probably lost this war long time ago. the reality is that the afghan soldiers join the army (which is regarded as puppet army by most of afghans) only for the sake of money, while most of afghanistan stands with the taliban and support them continuesly. or how else can you explain that the taliban still exists after being bombed by the american "super power" war machine for 15 years?? i am an afghan and i know this. the afghan people support their afghan native taliban

He was a wealthy entrepreneur and the new Afghan government went after his timber business probably becaus of some stupid western Ngo promising them money if they passed environmental laws. Or maybe the new governed was a rival of his and decided to harass him. He decided he won’t be humiliated at home and goes to fight. Not only against the corrupt governer but also for the independence of his land from foreign occupation. He wasn’t even Taliban btw. The fighters in Korengal were Salafis who joined the war because of anger to the Americans and policies of the local government they installed.

What a great insight, crazily good documentary

Pashtuns (Afghans) are a people who fought back for their freedom all of their history they fought the first Persian empire, Alexander the great, Genghis khan, Tamerlane, mughals, British empire, Soviet Union and Americans with no weapon technology and not many in numbers but still a force undefeatable and a people to be feared.

Do these guys look like a terrorists to you? To me it looks like a family man and a bunch of shepherds fighting for their family who just seek peace. Anyway, what business do the Americans have in their country in the first place? These people are actually considered heroes by their own fellow country men and these men with a bare gun fighting against technology makes them brave enough to my eyes. US government uses media and social platforms to control the public opinion by referring to them as "terrorists" or "bad guys". So if you are reading this and thinking of writing me a comment and tell em how dumb i am and how wrong is my point of view, first take a look at your self and think how brainwashed you might actually are by the western media and if the cause you believe to be "righteous" serves a peaceful purpose or your fake ego. You have probably become more brainwashed than these muslims about their religion. At the end of the day, its their religion and they are entitled to it, they have the right to believe in it and grown up with it from generation to generation. Western media calls them terrorists and CIA has become an expert in the field of fabricating propagandas in poor third world countries where they have financial interest by creating instability and turmoil. Opposing political parties against each other and sit back and watch them kill each other. Do you really want me to believe that Americans are interested in the "well being" of these people in any way and are there with the purpose to save them? Save them from what? We ain't kids right? Joshua, there's a difference between Taliban and Al Qaida. Taliban are local fighters ethnically Afghan who controlled the country after defeating the Russians. Talibans are welcomed in Afghanistan and were supported by US before 9/11. Now Al Qaida/Qaeda are Arabs who choose to fight the Russians. They are led by Osama Bin Laden. They are anti US and are responsive for 9/11. After September 11, Bush asked the Taliban leader, Mullah Omer, to give up Osama and expel Al Qaida from Afghanistan. He refused to do that so US invaded Afghanistan. Now local Taliban(as seen in the video) and Al Qaida both fight against US. I hope that increased you knowledge and please stop being ignorant.

From what I hear, our united states military has officially pulled out of Afghanistan, I do have some questions, aside from there being unexploded ordinance like IEDs, RPG rounds, grenades and whatever else might still be lying around, is it safe for United States civilians to go to Afghanistan to see the beauty of that country, I have been looking at pictures of Afghanistan and I say some really pretty places and I would like to go there one day without being scared that I could be harmed, I know that there is good in that county, but after what we did to it, I wanna know if we are even welcome to go there as a civilian, and not an armed soldier?
