Behind the Scenes: Summer 2020 Doll Collection, Me and My Dolls Chat About
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Summer 2020 saw me real busy, creating a collection of six dolls, all made from the same pattern (my figlette) but with different sizes and body proportions to alter the "age" of said dolls.
#naturalfiberartdoll #dollcollection #dollmakingprocess
You can read a little more about them and see a few more photos over here: www.figandme.com/blog/the-stor...
I published a doll pattern (greatly inspired by the proportions and details of the figlette) and called it Big Fig. If you want to try your hands at making a doll with some of these characteristics and feel you can find the pattern over here: www.etsy.com/ca/listing/66363...
Thank you for watching my videos. I hope I can post more behind-the-scenes and general vlogs this coming Fall.

One of the loveliest videos I have ever seen. I will be coming back again and again to view this one. Precious, peaceful and ....hopeful. Just what I needed before I turn in for the night. Thank you, Fabiola , for your magic and endearing little creations.

Hi Deborah, thank you so much for watching it and for letting me know you loved it. I enjoyed putting this one together so much (though it took forever to gather all the shots) that I might try to do more like this one in the future. After all, it's a perfect way to honour all the work I put into my dolls, don't you think?
What a beautiful journey...the music, the attention to detail as you work, the lovely summer scenery & best of all...the beautiful children you have created you are holding in your arms. ☺️. I use to sew my daughter's clothes and made her a doll with arms & legs made of "yoyo's...( 3" circles of fabric with a layer of fiberfill inside. All these were strung onto elastic, ) and the body was larger yoyos. Her head was solid w/ orange hair & she loved her floppy, silly doll w/ the bright face & beautiful smile. I believed then as I do now, our love, & prayers are sewn into the very fabric of these little companions we create for them.

Yes they are. There is some sort of magic that is transmitted through the love and care that we put with our hands into the things we make for those we love. Thank you for your kind comment.
They are so beautiful, they are like fairies.

Yes Alicia, dollmaking is time consuming, no matter which kind you do: crochet, rag dolls, ceramic, wooden, cloth or this wool sculpted natural fiber art dolls. But we all enjoy it and do it because we love too! and we just have to be patient with ourselves sometimes. Keep working on your dolls!
Thank you! 🙏🏻
