Behind the Scenes: Inside the CNN Newsroom
This is a short video I created for a class project. It describes everything that goes into producing the Heidi Collins' segment of the CNN Newsroom. Thank you Cari Hernandez, CNN's S&P office, and CNN Post, and CNN Productions for your counsel and assistance during production of this video.

That must be the most intense job in the world. But probably the coolest
I have come across this video nine years later - but wow - great work!

Aw thank you! I know, it was so long ago! I had a blast making it. One of the best experiences of my life. The crew was so accommodating and helpful throughout the process. I also got an A in the class ;)
Great Video. You did a terrific job!!!
A Producer is my dream job. I'm interning in radio right now. I want a summer internship in a newsroom. Getting my second degree in media.
@StevenSupernatural Yes, in the industry it is ALL about experience! The more you can bulk up your resume the better.
I love your video! Hope you got "A+" for it at school.

I did thank you!
My question would be, if I could asks someone and get a truthful answer....when you get a story...where do you find your sources, how are they vetted, and to what extent BEFORE it’s reported on the air?

we have reporters stationed in different locations who record the events and send them to the newsroom (thanks to technology)..the people in the newsroom get the information, and edit the stuff before letting it on air
@hksikes89 Thank you for the positive feedback. Good luck!
@StevenSupernatural Good luck to you. I am also TV reporter in my counrty and I love my job! I also look up American channels 'cause they are all great!
wow
I'd love nothing more than to work in a newsroom. Actually, an in-the-field Journalist is what I'd like to do. I wish college wasn't a requirement. A lot of potentially great Journalist are being held back by a lack of a college education.
Heidi is fine as hell and so is the girl who made this video!!!

I'm curious what you do for work now? Did you follow a news type career?

Hellcat77 ended up in Marketing, and the experience carried over. Careers don’t often take a linear path, sometimes they zig zag around, but the experience you gain along the way is what opens up new opportunities every time.

This was for a school project. No mastermind agenda. I wanted to show what a career in broadcast journalism could look like and that was the place I just happened to have access to at the time #hungrycollegeintern Actually keep forgetting I had to post on KZread as part of the assignment/portfolio... * sending positive vibes *

I meant no harm, Grecia! Even though I am not a fan of CNN, I still would have toured the CNN studios if I was training for a career in broadcasting, because they have all the high-tech gear and a large pool of resourceful people working for them. Cheers!
