    There is a strong culture shift from the old regime to Chellsie/Alicia and Dan. Still have a lot of work to do but i am glad we are getting a better look into National Team Camps and how each young woman is thriving and growing

    Just getting on the US Team seems to be more difficult than earning an Olympic medal. We could field 2-3 strong international teams.

    So heartwarming to hear how much, fun and support these amazing gymnasts have at the USA camp training now, hope that USAG ALWAYS remember that the gymnasts are people first and gymnasts second, their mental, emotional and physical health must always be top priority NOT medals, and in any case, if they're being so supported the medals will be won anyway as they are so incredibly talented. Congratulations to Chelsea and Alicia for developing this healthy environment 😊.

    I'm so happy that betty chelsea and alicia are there helping these girls. Also, am I the only one noticing a Stark contrast to the feedback? The girls are giving about camp question mark if you go back several years those girls dreaded it. They were tortured and starved anwe're worked. These gymnasts looks so positive, healthy and grateful to be there. That's how it should be.

    @@childadvocate8374 I'm glad she's not doing interviews. Anytime she gets a lot of press, her haters say she's hogging the spotlight (She's not). Then when she doesn't do interviews, these same people say that she's acting "above it all" or "believing her own hype". So I say good for her. Spend more time and focus on her training rather than doing fluff interviews about favorite drills to do. 🙂

    @erinm9445 I love they are bringing Legends in at the national level. Always wondered why there wasn't many already at that level for training and coaching. You see it other sports, but with gymnastics (especially women gymnastics in the US), retirees are on the peripherals of the team. Someone more familiar with the process please explain why that was. I really think the sport will have less abuse if former Olympians are involved at National level.

    I'm skeptical whenever gymnasts are asked questions about the coaches... the coaching should speak for itself. It just seems disingenuous. Of course the athletes are going to praise the coaches for a KZread video.

    If any of them were only there to see friends, they wouldn't be invited in the first place. And I wonder if they're neglecting their social media because they're training, like a competitor might do. That said, I can't think of any past Olympian who achieved competitive goals via social media, so maybe I misunderstood - feel free to clarify.

  • @kinsellawasrobbed7515
    @kinsellawasrobbed75153 ай бұрын

    The little ones are so cute but, " I am here to see my friends" is why the old Olympians with bad form are getting the Olympic spots and they are staying home. There is no competitiveness. You have to want to win and have that drive and social media central just means none of them are making the Olympic team.

  • @latent_memories

    IMO they're probably extremely competitive. There's unfortunately a lot of pressure on them nowadays to act really positively and uncompetitive when doing these interviews. A result of sexism, but i digress

    @@latent_memories I am not someone who likes to blame the women victim mentality game that everyone plays in 2024, but that is a great point. The men don't get told to pretend to be friends and I know for a fact certain gymnasts don't get along and watching them play nice for the camera is so fake.
