We jumped at the chance of speaking to Olafur during a brief Hiatus between touring with Kiasmos and starting his new Island Songs project (www.islandsongs.is) to talk about his latest collaboration with Spitfire, the "Composer Toolkit".

Very admirable approach --give your secrets so you can discover more. Very vulnerable and yet confident.
Simplistic genius no other words to describe this attention to detail...so blessed to have obtained the composer toolkit - just love the sounds Olafur has used over the years - I have only recently discovered his works and they make me so happy - beautifully layered and constructed - only felt like this once before when I first heard The Blue Nile
I've noticed in his interviews and live bits he has a nice collection of sweaters :)
I bet he was preparing those two uprights for "Doria"... such a beautiful piece...
Years ago the guy tuning my piano would dampen the strings with a length of felt, to stop the other strings resonating, as he went about tuning each string. I assume this is a common practise.
Thank you Olafur the piano sounds amazing and its only like what 180 mb? It sounds better than some libraries with 1 gb!
