I love how dedicated she sings the songs while also making this really artsy depressed face that all singer-songwriters with acoustic guitars have

She has the spot-on children's music voice too, I wonder if she does something like that for a living or if not I wonder if that assumption would offend her...
1000% appreciate the fact that they chose an actor that actually has a good singing voice

Interesting. I always thought that Quackington Farms was an allegorical jab at the self aggrandizing nature of the bourgeoisie. The ducks think that that they're all having an important conversation with each other but the speech is utterly banal, and they're just repeating each other ad nauseam saying nothing new.

It's a mockumentary, it's essentially a sub-genre of self aware comedy that capitalises on people who don't know that it's making fun of the topic in question. So I can kinda see why you'd think that, since it's supposed to look like it's serious, when in reality it's not.

You see, the "quacks" in the last song actually represent the people, and how we tend to blabber about stuff that don't matter, and if we hear something interesting/offensive, we tend to blabber about it to other 'ducks'. This is like how Trapp and Jess were arguing which was "Quacking" with each other. I hope more music critics were also aware of this heavy metaphor because it is beautifully expressed.
Regardless of the satire at play, I love Machi's voice. It lifts me up.
3 years later, this video is still amazing. Cried again like the first time watching it. Too real, intense, on point.
This is litrelly what an underdog artist has to face, Jeez the sarcastic reality hits me at a personal level.
