Beginners marching drum exercise to get drummers in the zone
Here is an easy marching drumming exercise.
Getting "in the zone" is a phrase you hear in the competitive marching worlds of DCI and WGI and in its simplest for it means, putting full concentration on the job in hand. The repetition of marching drumming means it is easy to lose concentration so simple exercises can "force" the player to have to think at all time, this trains the player to concentrate for longer periods.
This simple alternative to '8 on a hand' is a fun exercise to learn and master.
