When I reached makeup experimenting age, my dad refused to let me wear makeup. I moved out and was in college. As a grown woman I didn't have the luxury to look like a fool nor had time as a full time student with a full time job to learn how to put on eye shadow. By the time I discovered YT tutorials, everyone was using like 10 colors per eyelid. Thanks so much for this video. We really need more tutorials like this as I think this is more realistic. Honestly, who has time to use 10 colors?

Hi, know I'm a year late. My Dad was kinda the same as well, so I'm a late bloomer on make-up too. I've actually found a video about a "5 minute make-up" which is great for me for work. Lots of times I don't even have time for 10 color eye shadows as well.

I've several video's showing you how to create makeup looks using limited brushes. Here is a version using just 1 brush: kzread.info/dash/bejne/momKyLavk9fZe7g.html. Here's another smokey eye makeup look using one brush: kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z351zauPnc3aZbg.html. Another using only one brush: kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z351zauPnc3aZbg.html. I even have a video showing you how to create a makeup look using no brushes. You can find that here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/Zp19ytpqiKSyoMY.html. You're welcome ha.

+Eimear McElheron Hi Eimear, I liked your way of explaining things for beginners, and I thought you might be able to give me some advice; eye makeup just doesn't seem to be working for me! My crease is very close to my lashline all the way round, with almost no mobile lid visible when my eyes are open. The crease continues slightly past the outer corner of my eye, so attempts at applying winged eyeliner have been hilarious failures, because there is a furrow of skin getting in the way when I try to draw the liner outward! :) (Does it sound like I have hooded eyes? I think they are deep-set, because I have only a small gap between my lashes and my eyebrows.) Extending liner or shadow outwards doesn't seem to work well for me; but really, nothing seems to do much...! Defining my crease seems either pointless, because the work is invisible down in that furrow of skin once I open my eyes, or worse than useless because the dark colour extends almost to my eyebrows and makes my eyes seem even deeper-set than they are. As dark shadows didn't seem to look especially good, I tried light shadow on the eyelid, but that turned out to be invisible unless I kept my eyes closed all the time! ;) I've asked at department stores for help applying a simple, pretty look for special occasions, and have just been given the same advice that seems to do very little for me. If you have any ideas that might work for someone like me, I'd love to hear! Thanks.

I always use blush or bronzers on my eyes. I want to recreate this eye look with wet n' wild's single 'Nutty' which is a very similar taupey brown shimmer shade and their matte blush in Mellow wine which is my favorite atm and just add a wing for a little more drama since I plan on doing this for NYE later today. Your video was the most helpful to get a better idea of how the look I am going for will turn out. Thanks! 😊

When you have mature eyes with excess skin with hooded small eyes the last thing is less shimmer and just put in middle of eyelids then use a brighter shadow on inner corner but try to stick with matte’s because shimmer really shows up wrinkles much more especially hooded mature eyes with extra lose skin. I would just do a wash of a light color with a balm clear balm mix with a light matte to make it creamy and put that in a small eyelid and that will open the eyes as far as outer eyes it All depends on how hooded a mature eye is and skin but to give a illusion put a darker matte eyeshadow to recess your excess skin the hooded section and make like a reversed 7 then clean brush and blend that’s very important & tightline underneath your upper lash area use a pencil with a bronze or gray color not black because that can look harsh and look even older so try to keep it soft looking. It you are 20 something i would say go for anything. My opinion as always julie

Quick question: when you're using the eye primer, are you setting that with powder or going straight in with the eyeshadow? I know you said that you can use foundation and set with powder, but my issue is that my eyeshadow isn't really showing up well. It looks great in my mirror. When I take a photo without flash, it you can't really see my hard work. I've tried setting with foundation and translucent powder, and eye primer set with an eyeshadow that's my skin tone. Neither works. To clarify, I use a transition shade above the crease, a darker colour through my crease, a lighter colour on my inner lid, and a dark colour on my outer V. All I see is the darker colour in photos. I'm using the correct brushes: blending brushes and flat shadow brushes. It's not my eyeshadows too as I have a selection of high end shadows as well as drug store ones. I'm kinda stumped! 🤔
