I can't believe that failing to develop pieces was not a category in this rating range. It is so common to see the entire queenside not get developed. From the lack of development flows being unable to protect the king and a more developed opponent having tactical opportunities from simply having more pieces involved.

I like these videos! However, in Blundering, you also have to consider intentional sacs and exchange sacrifices. And unintended piece loss or move that creates one on yourself would have to be part of it. Undefended pieces can be part of it too, but could be victim of a tactical combo that typically requires a higher rating (experience) to spot. IE: It's not just points lost. PS: I think, in the last example, it was White that Blundered more . He was defended once and attacked 2x. And he'll be down a pawn after Nxe5.

Even when I do my best to ensure my pieces are always defended, I end up in positions where I have no good moves to advance my position whereas every opponent move is significantly challenging for me. I’m 1200, idk why I’m watching this video, but I was 600 rated about six or seven months ago If I have any tips for beginners, it’s to stay away from opening videos and most YT videos in general. Analyze your games, apply chess principles, and stop memorizing. Rely on your intuition and focus on ideas and tactics. Understand the ideas of your opening and play long time control games (15 | 10 minimum) you’ll improve in no time. Don’t chase wins, I only play one or two games a day and that gives me more improvement than playing scores of them a day. STOP MEMORIZING YOUR OPENINGS 10 MOVES DEEP drives me crazy because it seems like everyone in the 800-900 bracket does that and then you don’t see as many book moves past 1000 because people understand what they’re playing.

My problem consist in been really good in some games even with strong playes, and extremely weak in others, i am not consistent. By the way, to avoid blundering, i divede the board y four 4x4 squares, and i analice what's already attacking me in each square, so i say ''the queen square is 1 anything to care of by now'', ''square 2 is the king one, there is some danger and my target'', and then, the squere 3 and 4. By dividing the board in 4, you'll more control of it and it'll help to control blunders.

Chess drives me insane; I have fluctuated between 500-600 for over 2 months. Stupid blunders and impulsive moves are what kill me. I’ll lose a game and be mad so destroy my accuracy the next game and stagnate my long term rating development. Could realistically be close to 700-800 if not for these mistakes so hopefully can correct it.

What he doesn't tell you is that players don't really play in an ideal manner like this. You often can't castle before move 10 because your opponent is attacking you and you have to focus on defending pieces while trying to get some developing moves in at the same time. Real world chess doesn't conform to general principles at all. Even playing bots is not as predictable as this. I suppose, what we could say is that these are ideals to strive towards, but don't expect to achieve them. "Do this, UNLESS..." "Don't do this... UNLESS..." That's why all good chess players have to spend a ridiculous amount of time learning openings, lines, middle games, end games, puzzles, historic games... ... It's like learning a new language or a new skill. If you do it successfully 100 times you are a novice. If you do it successfully 1000 times you're competent. Do it successfully 10,000 times and you've finally mastered it. Since my life is already full I guess I'll have to be happy just playing and losing most of the time. Hey, I'm here to help you rank up!

Technically your game example wasn't a blunder, right? because he can capture the knight back and he'd only be down 1 point when the knight again recaptures the pawn. You defined a blunder as being down two down two points. However, it also leads to a weakened pawn structure for white, which is bad

Check the game review afterwards. I'll bet they are blundering. See what their move accuracy is compared to yours also.

If they aren't blundering it doesn't mean they played great it means you played so bad every move they played was good. Not trying to offend you just saying unless there's a free piece a 300 will blunder every 5 moves or so guaranteed. I just made a new account to test if it's really different at different levels. I didn't even have to plan any attacks until like 900 just always stay solid and learn defense and look for their mistakes because they are definitely making them and they will fall apart. ~1200 rated on two accounts
