I installed glass scales on my G0755 and felt like I was flying blind. Lots of useful information in this video. I had to make a low-profile head for one of the scales to get it to fit inside the castings for the x-axis, which turned out to be a big project. I broke the glass in one of the scales because I tried to cut it in place. There are a few videos out there demonstrating similar dumb moves.

I did this video because I have yet to see one video covering all the details. Many skip important steps and I'm sure spend time off camera correcting problems.

I installed glass scales on my mini mill from the get go. I ordered them on Amazon from a company willing to cut to specific lengths. Paid $199 for the set

I should have done that from the start but was way too inexperienced..

Very good. I have a Z scale that went bad(maybe too short and was stressed.) It was a replacement from the company a few years ago but now that it failed again I noticed that it might be too short. Do you know if all these Chinese scales have the same socket interface. Kinda looks like it from your video. Keep 'em coming. You are one of the consistent ones on YT without all the shock titles like "I quit!". Just good, consistent info to the average hobbyist with precision results.

They all have the same interface and being to short shouldn't cause any problems. Any metal chips inside the scale will kill it. Even aluminum milling dust I've seen.
