    Strap release to bow at days end you will always have it, put in your case. give gut shot deer 8 hours liver shot 4.If you shoot 3-D enough you should be able to judge yardage well enough that a yardage finder would be unnecessary for most ethical shots on whitetails.This eliminates extra movement .Hunting out west for Mule Deer or Elk a range finder is an asset because shooting might be at longer ranges!Great content,should help newbe bow hunters!!

    Tip. Use a range Finder as a trainer. Guess the distance and check your answer

    That’s a great way to train your eyes! Also try it from elevated positions, like in your treestand. 20 yards on flat ground looks different than 20 yards at an angle.

    There's an amount of muscle control, skill coordination, and discipline in mastering a bow. I'd say it's about as fair as hunting could get. Clearly a gun is vastly to superior in many ways thusly defaulting bow hunting at a "handicap" disadvantage. But I say that's okay. A bow makes you definitely earn your worth and your dinner.

    2nd thumb release was a great idea but dad taught me to always check over my equipment before leaving for every hunt, just like driving a car something can go wrong on a previous hunt that you may not notice

    I have a release that is made where it just loosens instead of completely coming undone. A strap sewn to it that is a bungee style material with a big rubber logo sewn to it keeps it in a loop. Makes it super easy to just stretch it over the quiver to keep the release with the bow. Also makes putting it on and taking it off super easy. I can do it while holding my bow, so a big plus.

    Had the bow set up at a pro shop. It performed just fine kzread.infoUgkxQEKUoxLWwayEDZR0NKB-5limn4MBU-2L . And I would say this is a good starting now that I could pass down to my son when he is older.But the package was missing the release and a nock was missing from one arrow.Dealing with customer support was terrible. They suggested I buy a new release rather than correct their own quality control issue because it’s to expensive for the. to ship it out from China.Update: manufacturer got back to me and resolved the issue. I retract the above statement.

    a buddy told me to use orange tape marker and mark 20yrds 30yrds and 40yrds and let the end hang enough to where it blows with the wind for wind direction.. Hes been hunting for 20 some odd years so im thankful i have a guy that teaches me things it took him many seasons to learn. He doesnt need orange tape markers but he recommends it for bow beginners. Thanks for the extra tips hopefully ill get a big one this year.

    There’s a lot of variables to arrow penetration so it’s hard to say. Boars have really tough hide so personally I’d say 30 yards. That doesn’t mean you can’t be effective farther, but I tend to err on the side of caution.

  • @skimp8871

    How I learnt to judge my distance was just using a range finder. After you get the distance from the range finder then just look for a few seconds after a while you'll just remember I guess

    I've made I dunno how many hunts with my bow over the past 25ish or so years and have never once got all the way out to a hunting spot and into my stand, Blind, etc... and forgot my release because in order to forget my release id have to forget my Bow case which is where my bow goes when not practicing/hunting WITH THE RELEASE LOOPED OVER MY SIGHT HOUSING OR BUCKLED AROUND MY HANDLE! And just for a back up in case mine was too malfunction or something afield I have a little CC camo zipper pouch from cottonmouth outdoors(I THINK) that has two Velcro straps that fits tight against my riser right below my stabilizer with a thumb button release In it just in case!?!

    Hi, I am more beginner than this video (like more just entertaining the idea of getting into bow hunting), but I had no idea that there can be such a long wait time between shooting a deer and going after it. Does it take that long for them to die after being shot? That’s the ethical way to do it? (Not trying to be critical, just actually curious, cuz I have no clue!)

  • @InformedOutdoors

    @InformedOutdoors

    3 жыл бұрын

    It really depends on the shot placement. It can take a few hours if they were hit in the guts. Or a double lung hit and they will die in minutes. The reason to wait even when you get a good shot is because if the deer hasn’t died and you jump it then it will run a lot farther. Adrenaline will take them from death’s doorstep to 200 yards. Hopefully that answers your questions.

    @@139forLife There are 6 times as many deer here today than when the Pilgrims landed in the early 1600s. If deer were not hunted and harvested, the deer population would become diseased and get decimated. Right now not enough deer are being harvested and the population is being affected by deer wasting disease. With all the grain crops and lack of predators, the deer population has exploded. The populations are so large, that they are now encouraging hunting in suburban areas. Many states have no limits during the seasons as the deer populations are so large.

    Hey not trying to bother you but I wanted to encourage you. And let you know if you haven’t I invite you to repent and accept the Lord Jesus as your savior. He came on this earth and died to save sinners. Of which I once was but I was set free by the shedding of his precious blood and you can be too. He was resurrected by the the father He’s waiting for you to say yes to him and accept the free gift of salvation. Please take up your cross and walk after him and deny yourself. He will take those sinful habits away (not judging) because I know he did it for me. Just surrender and obey him. He knows what you’re dealing with he created you he created us all. Just be sincere and willing in your prayers to change. And the lord Jesus will do the rest but it’s a lifestyle. He will change you just be obedient.
