@12:30 IMPORTANT TIP about the "Circle of Influence" that I learned the HARD way! If your proportional edit isn't moving JUST a part of the donut but the WHOLE donut, then like me, you've somehow scrolled the SIZE of your circle of influence to be SO big, that now you're moving you whole donut as if in Object mode. As a beginner I tried everything to figure WHY it was doing this. Finally, I decided that my best route to figure out what the problem was, was to begin anew with a new donut. Sure enough, I see the "Proportion Size (Smooth):" on the upper left and notced it was way smaller on this newer file. I was able to go back and fix my old bad donut file. Thank GOD. Hope that helps someone who messes up with the scroll wheel the way that I did.

For all you people new to the world of 3d. I know it will feel hard and confusing at first, but don't give up through that first steep learning curve, it's really a life changing experience. I had bought a few online courses and they really show a lot (they explain pretty much every function) but this is the first time I've really enjoyed a tutorial. As mentioned in the previous part, you don't need to know everything. Praxis is almost more important, everything else comes with time. I can use the purchased courses perfectly as a supplement afterwards, but for learning and memorizing the basic functions, this tutorial is unbeatable! Thank you so much for your time and effort, you are just opening up the world of 3D editing to me. 🤗

I've been dabbling in 3d for too many years to count. I created and animated an Eagle Transporter from Space 1999 in Povray when there was no graphical front end, you had to code the shapes, distortion and movement in a text file. I played with the Blender Game Engine a few years back, throwing balls at a wall and dropping rain into puddles. Now I'm back and starting from square 1. Thanks for starting your series again for v4. I'm really looking forward to getting some great results. And when I make it to Hollywood I promise to put a donut in my first movie! 😁👍

In so many years of trying to learn the basics of this program I still don’t understand what any of the keys or features mean, I haven’t been able to memorize how to navigate around, and I still rely on File>New project as my Deselect button because there just doesn’t seem to be one. Finally getting into blender to augment pre-made things and make them my own. Appreciate the encouragement that this can be learned well from home. Maybe I'll eventually get to making my own assets but I'm experimenting for now!

Dear Blender Guru 🙏 I just did the monkey and am now on my way to those faboulous looking donuts - I started my blender journey years ago, but too often got distracted by something and stopped learning. Following your tutorial has made me want to really go all the way with blender this time - and I am happy to have found your great tutorials!! 😍thank you so much for your work!

We'll see if I can push through or decide to carry on this possible skill to the future lengths, but it's nice to see someone out there putting decent educational tutorials for beginners without it being sectioned behind a obnoxious paywall. I appreciate the thorough and well thought out nature of these lessons, it's really carrying my motivation for this medium right now lmao

Pro tip: You can array a modern light special tracing algorithm to be efficiently implemented within a real-time rendering pipeline, considering the challenges of managing complex scene geometries in the option menu in Blender. This is a very easy concept you should know.

This has a million views and over a thousand comments. But I still want to say that this is so cool and fun to follow along having no prior experience. It nicely shows off some features I never knew existed while also explaining it in a way that makes me think I actually understand what's happening instead of just repeating the steps mindlessly.

A new version of Blender. Time to make more donuts. I actually waited to install 4.0 until this tutorial series came out. Cause I had a feeling some little changes would be made. Such as how the modifier menu would be setup compared to previous version and having this is giving me a lot of help in learning more about it and 3D along the way. In addition really liking how you've edited this one compared to the last one. (Which was still great series I learned a lot from). You go really good a cutting out the 'dead air', but didn't go so far that it's hard to follow along too.

Super helpful tutorial, coming to Blender from Fusion360 and the world of 3D CAD. I think the biggest hurdle for me so far, is that a lot of Blender is just "feel". Like you said, if everything is perfectly constrained by set values, then you lose realism. Honestly a very exciting feeling, liberating even, like I'm making art!

Just started with 3d again after years of depressingly dropping from design and visuals... Been following Andrew since 10-15 years ago when I started back in the years before Evee, before the Principled Material (Yes I studied his class about Fresnel and Metalliness comprehension and to do deep nodes configuration to imitate it... just weeks appart from the next version of blender dropping Principled), before cycles, before denoising, before Poliigon, before the very first donuts tutorial... The perfect time to start again! Please master! give us the whole series!
