This is why I usually prefer to draw characters with helmets or masks. Also I hate it when the opposite happens: you draw a highly detailed and realistic-looking face/head, but then when u try to draw anything bellow the shoulder it looks like something from a horror movie.

becoming a better artist is actually simple... work on what you're weak at and as the master Kim Jung Gi would say observe you're surroundings its not all repetition and also.. you dont have to learn every bits of anatomy to know how to draw just draw the basic shapes and dynamic movement but.. i cant say much since.. i had a bit of falling out in my own journey to be better in drawing

Cause hands are comprised of hundreds of little bones compared to the rest of the body, which means they can bend in many different ways but if you draw them slightly too bent they will look wrong. Plus if you don’t have a solid grasp on perspective it can be hard to properly draw each finger next to each other. Just keep using hand references until you get it down. :)

Moral of the story: Pen actually turns into a book when you throw it

Everyone’s talking about how hard identical eyes are, or that hands are worse, or facial structure Meanwhile I’m just here who struggles on making a good solid line without redoing it to the point of making it look thick as hell, and then erasing it but then it looks weird _and then you gotta redraw it, but then you get the thick line back, _*_so you erase it again and it’s just making it even worse and then you keep doing it and_* the paper just has a hole now

i used to have this problem up until highschool. then i started doodling a lot with colourful pens in class and that left very little room for mistakes and correction so i learnt how to move on and bother less with mistakes. if you don't like the idea of having only one pen you can use a lighter one (like pink, cyan, light green and yellow) for a "sketch" and a darker one for "lineart"

I don't know if this helps, but I actually have a "never draw straigt lines" techinque. Sounds a bit dumb at first, but basically, I once watched my father shade one of his drawings and thought it was the way to draw in general, so I copied it. The trick is, to basically draw a line like you would shade it, aka several small lines. You make one strike, stop, start a new strike connecting to the old one. This way you don't have a "too thick" line and can maneuver better in which way the line should go. The only downsite is that you need to erase the extra lines afterwards. Oh and it only works for pencil. If you want to colour it, use fineliner in different strengths.

Opposits for my friend, she likes her drawings, is proud, then shows to the mother then the mother throws it in the bin. I talked to her mother. She said that her daughter draws too much and theres no where to put it. Little tip from a non-beginner, your whole hand is the same size as your face! So when you've got your face drawn just eyeball it a little and try to draw the circle where you're gonna put your hands the same size and it should come out more proportionate!

(If you don't want to draw onw eyed monster, you can draw two alian eyes that don't need to be same. Kidding.) --->To start off, just draw one eye, and then measure the width of that eye. Remember that there is one eye spacing in the middle of the head between the two eyes, so add a space equal to the first eye and then add in then begin to draw the second eye using the same width again.😊💙
