UPDATE!!!!
I updated the rig because there was some slight issues with it, if you already did your idle anim, the only things i fixed was motion bone had a slight rotation and location transform when it should be in the exact same place as idle bone.

    Forgot to mention- ALWAYS BE SAVING! Have backups! And always have a save of your Idle before baking, that will be the base for the rest of your animations AFTER YOU BAKE FOR YOUR IDLE DONT KEEP ANIMATING ON THAT SAME BLEND.FILE!!!! You will break your rig like that. To keep animating for your reloads or whatever use a blend save file where you saved before baking Shift + mouse wheel click to move around the viewport

    This is amazing man! Thank you for making a modern New Vegas animating tutorial, I have wanted one of these for so long. Also, breaking it into different parts instead of just making a 2 hour video was a great move.

    In my case when the animation plays the gun stays still in its position , without moving. When I export the scene root should I also export the gun skeleton with it ?

    pro tip to save you r project go to file save as AND SAVE A NEW FILE FOR *EVERYSTEP* then if you mess up you can just go back till its right

    I know it is a long shot but I was wondering if I could get some help, I followed the tutorial and when I equip the gun in game it crashes. My game is on a fresh install with only the 1 weapon mod installed along with the pre-requisites for the gun mod and stewie tweaks. EDIT: I followed the same process with a vanilla gun and it worked, it seemed to be a problem with the gun mod.

    Would you know why I can’t get the Skeleton.Nif for male bodies to load. (3rd person) only half of it seems to generate. Trying to re weight the bones for the Ranger Combat armor

    Whenever I try to move the idle, it moves back to it's original position when I hit Shift-D. Any advice?

    The origin of the gun is right in the middle of the weapon and not on the grip. Any way to move it toward the grip? Edit: I might be overthinking it. The weapon's gonna be held alot lower than most weapons. Not as low as a minigun but still.

    Attempting to open the animation rif blend file with blender 2.9 results in an instant crash, but using a newer blender version means the plugin for nif is incompatible, what do i do? Edit: Found a more up to date version of the plugin that worked with the latest Blender version.

    Nice video man!But I have a problem and I m asking if you may figure out why,I made a bolting animation for an m24 sniper rifle mod,it all looked great inside blender but when I put it in the game's files,and get in game,after I shoot the weapon my camera goes a few meters up in the air looking upwards,and after the "attack animation" ends It will return to the normal idle animation but still with the camera up in the air,any clues why?

    @@Xolerys Upon further inspections it was my fault for being a moron and messing up the file by doing some very wrong parrenting. With a new file I ve managed to pull a working animation after all. Now I need to learn how to add sounds to it. Again I tell you that your tutorials are pretty good and I m looking forward to see the part 3.

    @@yankewithbrim2923 on the frame u want the sound to start, If it's a sound file found in vanilla files "Sound: EXAMPLESOUND" if it's a custom sound you'll be using u need to make a file path in the Sounds/fx/MY FOLDER/MY SOUNDS.wav and the text key will be SoundPath/fx/MY FOLDER/SOUND.wav (I forgot the exact way the text key is written, look it up on the knvse page on Nexus) I'll go over this in part 3

    Is there a way to import a vanilla kf reload and just edit that? I'm trying to backport the hunting shotgun to FO3 and when I import the reloadY from vegas the hands/arms spaz out, I deleted all and import the skeleton only and the reloady kf and duplicated the frames to make different reloads but as expected it doesn't work properly ingame I have no idea what im doing lol. As fo3 has no bullet counted reload I'm gonna have to make say the gun hold 4 shells so 4 different reloads calling from GetPlayerCurrentAmmoRounds how many shells you have left to determine which reload to play for how many shells to reload etc. I have custom reload anims working seperate from the reload slots problem is jumping into this software I have no clue of. at this point i should just play ttw but i dont wanna ditch my fo3 mod setup with FWE etc.

    For some reason the animation debugger doesn't show up when I type "tdt" in the console, I have lStewies tweaks installed, any idea why?

    Did you activate the debugger? You need to turn it on it's off by default

    When I exported it and replaced the in game anim, the gun becomes misplaced and idk how to fix it, any help? Video showing what I mean kzread.info/dash/bejne/gayBxc-mZ9izorA.html (blender part shows what its supposed to look like and in game is what it actually looks like)

    You moved the weapon bone from the rig collection. Click on it and hit Pose>Clear transforms>Location. Don't even move the weapon bone plz. And you'll have to re align the weapon mesh origin to that bone again

    The bones for me move independently and do not behabe like yours. Using the most recent version of niftools importer exporter btw.

    Did you already do your idle? Sometimes new people do their idle, bake the animation, then continue animating that same file with the baked animation. You can’t do that

    for some reason it doesnt apeear in game for me, when using Nifscope Dev 7 the number in aim is set to 24 instead of 0

    @@Xolerys yeah, it uses the default animations instead of the one that i did in blender, and when i open the .kf file in Nifscope to see if everything is good i notice that the name isnt aim (0), but instead aim (24), idk if it has something to do with it nothing working (you can see in your NiControllerSequence, name aim(0) string, here -> 27:34). What are some common errors that make it not show the custom animations ingame?

    @@geni4261 I don't think that number next to Aim matters (don't take my word on it tho this is the first time I'm hearing about this being brought up) Some things to check Make sure u have the correct text keys Make sure there's no space after naming it "Aim" Make sure ur priorities are right

    They shouldn’t be stretching? Idk what you’re doing other than clicking S to stretch them. When you click on a bone you should only be clicking R or G
