We don’t need a Disney musical remake, there’s a broadway musical now that’s a combination of the og movie and the carton. It’s basically the plot of the movie with the beetlejuice from the cartoons. It’s amazing!

She's still a Goth in the show . There is such a thing as perky Goth. Goths aren't all emo. I got what you were saying, that she's no longer mopey and depressed but she most assuredly IS a Goth. See Death of the Endless from Neil Gaiman's The Sandman or the musician, Voltaire. Goth does not mean depressed.

Amanda Pike Definitely true (though I may be biased speaking as a perky Goth, lolz!) 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪 I always figured that Lydia being less mopey in the show was because she was processing moving into a new house with a semi-new stepmom in the movie (and it may also be some character development since there was originally going to be a sequel to connect the movie and show before it cancelled).

He can't quiet enter our world at will. Until she summons him he's confined to mirrors, or manifesting in small form on photographs, doodles, ect... It's a recurring plot point. How else could she banish him if he can appear at will? The rule was if he is banished (summoned away with his name) he can't come back until his name is called again. It's not that once he's summoned the next day he needs to be summoned again. It's like banishing and invoking a demon or faery in folklore. Juno even said so in the movie "Without putting him back!" (meaning they didn't banish him after calling him.

19:11 actually I believe DIC (now known as DHX) worked on Inspector Gadget... as the Super Mario Super Show (also made by DIC) made Inspector Gadget a guest in the live action segments played in his grand debut impersonating Adams and fresh from the stand up community, one Maurice LaMarche. Nelvana are usually associated with works such as the animation in the Star Wars Holiday Special, Rock 'N Rule, the Rupert TV series from the 90's, The Adventures of TinTin and of course BaBar the Elephant. I believe that one of the company's founders Clive A Smith worked on the animation masterpiece "Yellow Submarine". There was also a cancelled "Doctor Who" project believe it or not! Which only made it as far as the pre-prod, one can only wonder what that was to be like.

You do realize the only way the cartoon works is if you disregard the last 15 mins of the movie. Witch explains why Lydia & Beetle Juice get to travel back & forth between the 2 realms. Though only Lydia could take others with her it also explains why all of the Neither world excerpts Lydia as part of B.J.'s family.

Fun fact - I used to live cast for Rocky Horror, and one year I performed with a broken leg. I did the whole show as Columbia on crutches, which was funny unto itself, but at the curtain call I had a cast member call out "Bettyjuice" three times and I threw away the crutches...then promptly fell on my face. Great gag. Funny every time
