This film has Tim Burton's B movie charm to it and it looks like a REAL Tim Burton film not a Hollywood Burton film. I can't wait for this film. Will be there day 1. Keaton still has the ghost charm.

'Beetlejuice 2' has been in development ever since the first one came out. In the 90's Kevin Smith was given a chance to work on 'Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian', which never came to be.

Monica bellucci plays beetlejuice’s old wife. In the scene where she says “Where’s Beetlejuice”? She is missing her ring finger. Remember in the wedding scene in the first movie he pulls out a whole finger and says “She meant nothing to me, nothing at all”

I want to be excited, but I'm getting Hocus Pocus 2 vibes from this. Plus its my personal opinion that the reason Burton's earlier films were so much better is because back then studios gave him less control. And since that changed his films haven't been as good, kind of suggesting that he needed the extra help.

@@chrisstanleyofficial I don't mind the time that's passed, and I suppose Wednesday was good. I'm just wondering how Burton having more creative control for this movie will differ from the original. The one thing that mostly throws me off is how slick everything looks. Obviously we're in 2024 now and cameras are extremely high quality, but I feel like certain films really lend themselves to the more grainy older look of 80s-90s movies. It's something that bugged me with the new Indiana Jones too. Seeing Keaton in the makeup and costume in full HD just looks weird

It's possible that they'll add some texture and grain to the final film. I remember being stunned by the trailer for The Holdovers after I saw the movie. The movie itself looks so convincingly like old film stock, but then I saw the trailer after and it didn't have that look at all... then I found out that it was all done in post. It still could happen.

@@masterofallgoons Dude that's crazy I was gonna reference that same film initially. Between the soundtrack, cinematography, and the film grain, it felt like a movie straight out of the 70s. @@Luke101 - It really looks great doesn't it? It's very rare that I can be fooled, but that added texture, and the boxy aspect ratio really got me. But this post production process has really come along way to approximating the look of actual film.

@@Luke101 - Also, our Aussie friends may know this one, but the other film that I noticed a good filmic look in a totally different way was the Nick Cave documentary by Andrew Dominik from 2022 called This Much I Know to Be True. It's a great watch (and listen) but man, it looks terrific, particularly in the performances of the songs. I stayed to watch the credits when I saw it and noticed they credited a company or technique called 'Live Grain' which apparently added that moving, grainy texture to the look of the image, and it's terrific. I don't know that it fully looked like celluloid, but it looked beautiful.
