Beef shish kabobs are the ultimate summer grilling recipe. Juicy and tender sirloin steak is soaked in the best beef marinade, then threaded on skewers with onion, bell peppers, and mushrooms before being tossed on a hot grill for a quick 15 minutes until perfectly browned. I've been fortunate enough to have traveled extensively throughout the Middle East and have eaten numerous versions of shish kabobs (also spelled shish kebab). And if you go beyond the Middle East, different cultures have their own twist on it with a variety of marinades, veggies, and meats such as lamb, pork, or chicken. But today I'm highlighting a classic beef shish kabob recipe threaded with chunky steak bites and colorful sliced vegetables.

Quick tip for those who happen to only have wooden skewers in your home: soak a bunch in water ahead of time so they don't burn, and then use 2 skewers per kebab so they won't rotate. The doubling up creates an almost flat surface, which prevents that turning.

Do you grill with lid on or off?
Can you use beef stew instead...I know it's tougher but maybe use a tenderizer?....

I'm making these this Sunday 10/22/23. Got the skewers, and all the fixens. I'm in ky, so its getting chilly. Don't care. Firing up the fire pit and grill. Will get meat marinated overnight. Got lots of ' schrooms, peppers and onion. Even ordered the special soy sauce. Made pumpkin pie, and ultranutty pecan bars. Woooo hooo. Gonna be good feasting in L'ville Sunday😅

For grilling, I'd say these are best made with metal skewers as wooden skewers can burn easily. I'm pretty sure you can cook this recipe (not on skewers) in your air fryer, but I would look up a similar recipe!

This is a different recipe, never tried it with soya sauce. Also, if you marinade the veggie, it taste better. Will definitely make it.

Looks delicious! But I often eat good meat with raw vegetables or overcooked meat and good vegetables. Do you have the same problem?

1. Wood skewers are better as they hold everything in place and produce a better tasting kabob 2. Fill the skewer completely up, I normally get 6 pieces of meat on each 3. Add cherry tomatoes to add flavor 4. Never use a purple onion, sweet onions are the best 5. Marinade the meat 3 to 5 hours, 24 hours will cause the meat to fall off
I am going to try this. But, was disappointed that you didn't link the greek chicken kabobs here. After looking for 15 mins I gave up.

I decided to do that. I realized no one uses 1/4th tablespoon of anything in recipes lol
The vegetables add a lot of color but they look like they're still raw.
