Unreal! That’s a job for a tow tractor. It looked like the left prop hit the dirt shortly after leaving the runway and then the dufus strikes the dirt again after stopping!! I’m sure the inspections and repair bill will be shocking. That’s a little more expensive than getting your mom’s car stuck in the mud and trying to spin out of the hole

It seems more like bad luck on the tire blowing out than just a hard landing. It's too bad the pilot didn't simply stop and try to find a way to tow it, but I can understand the urge to want to move the bird under its own power. Even without a blown tire, the Duke doesn't look like a good soft field airplane.

Only the Power Turbine / gearbox would need it. The gas generator / low-pressure axial compressor ought not to be affected as the two sections are not coupled, unlike a bypass type engine.

You are underestimating the cost of a repair, that aircraft is easily 1 to 1.5 million in value at minimum. The engines are some of the most expensive components on an aircraft. Both engines had sustained a prop strike which means possible damage to the internal parts of the engine. The pilot should have stopped trying to move the aircraft, shutting down after coming to a complete stop would have been a better idea. Both engines will need to be given an expensive overhaul and a ton of testing and repairs if required (That's only if the engines are not damaged beyond repair). The landing gear struts, motors, tires, sensors and everything will need to be looked at and repaired/replaced. The undercarriage, fuselage and wings will need to be taken apart and inspected. Also, because the aircraft has a pressurized fuselage there will need to be even more inspections to ensure the aircraft can keep cabin pressure without failure. There are many more things I can list but repairs could easily go 100k +

The tire didn’t blow by itself. You can see the puff of smoke when he did it. They make antilock brakes for this very purpose. If you hit the brakes too hard before you have enough weight on the gear the tire is likely to go.

@@rwsavory Oh really? If you willfully set your house on fire is your insurance company going to pay to replace your house? There is such a thing as "Gross Negligence and Willful Misconduct" clauses as well as other clauses such as "In the act of committing a felony" or some other stated exception or exclusion clause that would allow the insurance companies not to pay on a claim if they have proof that one of these exceptions or exclusions occurred. The possibility exists that just such a clause may exist in this aircraft owners insurance policy and if one did exist then this video may provide the proof the insurance company needs to not pay for the damage to the engine which was clearly caused by the owners willful negligence to try and continue to taxi the aircraft after the landing gear had been damaged in the landing incident.
