Bee Gees - How Can You Mend a Broken Heart (1971) | FIRST TIME REACTION

Ойын-сауық

and we continue on with Bee Gees, How Can You Mend a Broken Heart! I was taken aback slightly since -- I KNOW !! They have monster songs out there - but hearing this soothing side - is something else. I could not help but think, if they were singing about their own personal experience. Yes in this video I can confirm they sing LIVE! Thank you, and do enjoy the reaction.

Hello in 2023! The BeeGees wrote this song and Al Green covered it. Andy had a solo career and died 17 yrs after this was performed. Andy was 12 years younger than Barry & 9 yrs younger than the twins, so Andy started singing career 20 yrs after the BeeGees started as children. ❤ Enjoyed your reaction & this performance from so long ago! ❤😊

This is their song, everybody and their brother covered this song. This was written after they got back together after a brake up. They missed each other, their brothers and as Robin said it really wasn't any fun on their own.

Andy was still alive. This was about their relationship with each other after Robin quit the band for a while and went solo. This is after they reunited. They made it into a love song to appeal to the audience. This is their original song.

The drummer is Geoff Bridgeford who was very much a part of the band in the early seventies. The song was written by Barry and Robin and was their 1'st US number one in 1971. Al Green made a cover that is correct, but it is original a Bee Gees song.

Great reaction! Robin actually sang more leads then big brother Barry from the late 60's to the early 70's (pre-disco era) or shared the lead with him. They had lots of early hits during this era. The disco era changed everything for Robin and he took a back seat to Barry's famous falsetto. Please react to other early hits with Robin taking the lead such as his signature song "I Started a Joke", "I Can't See Nobody" and "And the Sun Will Shine". All three were sung at theit 1974 Melbourne concert and would be great choices for your reactions. However, if you want the best live version of "Joke", I would suggest using their 1989 concert for your reaction. He actually got a standing ovation whenever he performed this song but at this particular performance he received one that lasted almost one minute and they actually showed it! He loved this song so much that he requested that it be played at his funeral in 2012. Such a beautiful voice from such a wonderful man. I promise that you won't be disappointed!

In the biography Barry saiddong him and Robin had been estranged for about a year and he called him up one day and asked him to come over and they wrote the song that afternoon about them

They first started out with whoever wrote the song sang lead, then they evolved into taking turns taking lead in the same song. Then they decided who ever voice best fit to then sing harmonies.

They wrote this, and Al Green sang it first. It wasn’t written for Andy, because Andy was a little boy at the time.

Maurice apparently had a knackto play many instruments & was the "techie" brother. He plays bass in a lot of live footage& Maurice sings the falsetto on Nights On Broadway which is usually credited as being the beginning of their falsetto sound

I want to point out a couple of corrections About your reaction. Andy Gibb was Alive and barely a teen at this time. He passed away much later in 1988. Before that, he was a teen idol Singer during the late 70s into the 80s. Also, the Bee Gees wrote and recorded this song first. Al Green covered it a few months later
