Bed bugs found at 4 Las Vegas Strip hotels in past 5 months

Some tourists staying at Las Vegas Strip resort hotels may have returned home with unwanted guests. Reports from the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) show inspectors found bed bugs over the last five months at several strip properties.

In the past, housekeeping would come in every day and strip the bed and put clean sheets on and provide fresh towels. If they went back to this it might help the problem.

That would likely spread the infestation. Bed bugs aren't due to a lack of cleanliness. It's a challenging problem to fix and the visitors coming through make it incredibly difficult. Be diligent when you check in and check the room yourself

They still do. The only issue is that most people leave a don’t disturb sign on the door before heading out and they will not go. I stayed at Excalibur for 5 days last November and they cleaned every single day after the second day and that was because of the sign.

@@LaCallejera_xo Clean the room yes, I mean completely strip and clean sheet the beds including the comforter /duvet. There used to be huge linen carts up and down the halls. Now they make the bed and tidy but I don’t think complete linen changes are done daily anymore.

You're right, they don't, because no one wants to work those jobs anymore, can't force people to work jobs they just don't want to do. I know people that work in these hotels, tell me all the time about the low staff issues, Alot of rooms just don't get cleaned, not enough manpower to get it all done. Hotel Owners don't want to shell out for more employees, and they have no problem with guests checking into fecal and urine smeared rooms.

and at the same time many of these infested casino hotels have jacked up their room fees, and still continue adding in all kinds of hidden fees along with ridiculous parking fees, yet can't seem to have enough money to professionally fumigate their rooms for bed bugs, and as far as know, i have yet to hear that any of these bed bug farms refunded their customers any amount back money for getting bit up in their hotel rooms, now can you imagine planning your vacation in las vegas, flying in from somewhere else, booking a room at one of these hotels, expecting to have a great time on vacation, only to get bit up from bed bugs in the room you rented, and when you contact management in regards to getting your money back so you can gamble on a different hotel not being infested, only to find out, the casino hotel management tells you no, no refunds and and no discounts, personally, i would never return to las vegas again and warn everyone i know to stay clear of las vegas,

They also don't sanitize unless there is a need. People also go to hotels very very sick with all sorts of gross issues and also die in those same rooms. And not to mention, all the party people pissing , crapping themselves and vomiting in those beds and floors as well. Hotels charge all that money but they do not use it to maintain all those rooms. I used to go to casinos often and carried a ultraviolet flashlight to look for bed bugs. UV light can be used to detect both live bed bugs and their eggs. These are really cheap and small and can also detect urine and semen stains too, if the staff just remade the bed instead of changing the sheets. For less than $10 bucks plus batteries, you'll feel a lot better about where you're sleeping!

I’ll tell you why it’s bed bugs in all these hotels being from Las Vegas and working not only as a housekeeper but as a manager. They treat the housekeepers like shit therefore they don’t have enough staff to clean those rooms resulting in careless cleaning. As a manager we are told that people who are staying over are last priority to people who are checking in. They tell us to give these house keepers all checkouts to clean for them over booking the hotel and only if a guest complain then we would service them. The house keepers are over worked and the floor supervisors are overwhelmed because they have to be the fave of all the complaints and frustrated housekeepers, while the floor managers sit in their ass and point fingers all day. Trust me I know a lot of what goes on in these hotels that y’all would be furious about but we’re silenced by threats and being blackballed from the hospitality industry, ooh baby it’s deep. While you are paying those resort fees you are not getting your moneys worth trust me. Some of y’all sheets and pillow cases don’t get changed at all. The changes will happen when you are the consumers stop getting tricked by the fake glamour and lights they are straight up robbing y’all and I seen it for myself.

Check with a trap before you stay anywhere. 2 Shallow bowls, 2 sheets of paper, 1 package yeast, 1 sugar packet and warm water. Let sit for 2 - 3 hours near the bed or on the bed and near the curtains. If you see bugs in or near the bowl on the paper... leave quickly.

Will you probably get a bed bug? Maybe, maybe not. Are you going to be scared to go to a hotel for the rest of your life? I don't know how many times I've been to a hotel, but I've never ran into this situation. But I am sure it has happened to a lot of people.
